    In January 2023 I registered my son for a local basketball league I paid registration of $250. This was to include practices and seven basketball tournaments. Right before the third tournament we received word that the season would be ending with no reason why I can’t remember exactly but I do know that was either in March or April. There was four tournaments left to play after league was canceled I inquired about a half refund seeing how only half the season was played and was told that the financial portion needed to be worked out and was asked to give a few weeks, I was told that the tournaments were paid for in advance and a refund was needed from the establishment, hosting the tournaments that excuse went on for three months. I finally contacted the establishment that would host the tournaments and told them the information that I was given by the league that I registered with and at that time I was informed that there was no pre-payment for the tournaments so my league was not waiting for a refund. My son only played half of the time that he was registered for practices were canceled, and parents will be notified after they had arrived for practice.

    The consumer story is not entirely accurate and we tried to explain to the consumer their proper refund. They child quit the team with no notice to us until the season was over. After trying to be corgile with the consumer they made up a fake refund amount and DEMANDED we pay them the refund amount. We explained to the parent the amount they are owe and the consumer then threaten us with harm. We tried to work with the consumer until they because hostile and volatile. The consumer has also fabricated the story and told multiple consumers and entities trying to harm our business. We have filed an order of protection against the consumer to the nature of the consumers complaints. Per our attorney we will be resolving the matter in court with proper mediation for our safety.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. 
    My child played in every single tournament until notified by league that Mr ****** was canceling remaining games. He has never had a conversation with myself or my child’s father regarding anything about my son quitting. I have email correspondence with him acknowledging that he will be giving me a refund nothing mentioning my son quitting. He claimed that the sports gym had to issue refund 1st and that was hold up I made contact with sports gym and have in writing that there is no refund owed by them because he never paid them. I have emails for him stating money coming Friday and then no refund. He cancelled season halfway thru and I’m asking for a 50% refund since season was canceled by organization my son did not quit. I have attached an screenshot from may with him asking for my cash app to send refund no mention of quitting. And another with me following up with him in June and again no mention of quitting he states he forgot. And another with him claiming **** did not refund him confirming that he would send Friday asking how many games my son played. I have attached email from **** stating they don’t owe him a refund so they are not the hold up on my refund.
