I booked the venue "Windows on The Lake" on 01/26/2023 for a wedding in August 26, 2023. I put down a deposit of *****, then my first payment of $3,150 (which was paid by bank Check) was sent via postal mail on February 21, 2023. Unfortunately i had to cancel my wedding on 04/25/2023. I was told to do so via email. I sent the email to ****** the sales assistant that had emailed me in the past. i followed up with a phone call to the venue and left a message and they said **** or ******** would assist me with the cancellation. I then recieved an email from ******** on 05/04/2023 regarding my second payment being due. I then informed her that i had sent an email and left a message to cancel the wedding . I was then told I would receive a call regarding the refund . No one has returned my calls. Ive called almost every day and today **** told me that no one was going to call me back because the owner isn't going to refund me and doesnt think he needs to speak with me. I would like a refund of my $3,150.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

    [Your Answer Here]

The date of cancellation is incorrect. I sent an email as advised in the contract, on April 25, 2023 at 4:35pm, to ******. I then received an email regarding my next payment; from ********. In which I responded that I had sent an email to cancel. Then I received a call from **** who advised me to give ******** a call and she would take care of everything. The wedding was booked January 26, 2023 for an August 26, 2023 date. I haven't met with the Venue yet. No food choices were made, no linens were selected, No guests names nor invitations( provided by the venue ) hadn't been done yet.  I cancelled before any of that. Not to mention the wedding was booked this same year. I have attached the contract as well as emails I have sent. I feel I am owed a refund. Thank you .
