    I searched the web looking for an accoutant near me. ***** ****** with Lindenhurst CPA PLLC Phone number ************ came up as on the the options. I noticed that he was located in ********, which is far from me, but when I read some of his reviews on Thumbtack I thought he would be fine to work with. I contacted him and told him that our business is in *******. He assured me that he is licensed in ******* and does accountant work in ******* all the time. I sent him our business information, employee information for the purpose of doing our payroll taxes. After receiving our information he stopped responding. I am very uneasy about him having our information and now going silent. He has social security numbers, addresses, etc. I contacted him via email, phone and text. I asked that he confirm that he has deleted our business and employee information from his records, and he still has not responded. I did further investigation and found that he has done this several times to other people. I called Thumbtack to report my experience, and I am now reporting my experience with him to BBB.

    To Whom It May Concern,

    I would like to formally respond to the complaint filed against me. The individual in question engaged my services in the fall for back payroll tax filings from 2020, which had not been completed. However, they did not provide all the necessary documentation. I made multiple attempts to obtain the required records, including *** business transcripts and payroll details, but only partial information was provided.

    Despite this, I worked with the available data without billing the client. When the remaining documents were finally provided, I was on vacation from November 15 to January 15 and do not work during that time. Upon my return, I intended to follow up, but due to the significant time and effort required for the project compared to the compensation, I chose to step back from the engagement.

    Regarding the client's concerns about data security, I can confirm that all business and employee information has been removed from my records. I do not retain personal or confidential data from inactive or unresponsive clients.

    Unfortunately, I do not recall the complainants name or company details due to the volume of clients I serve, but I maintain ethical and professional standards in all my engagements.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved. All I wanted was a response as to what was done with our information. I am at ease that he says he discarded our confidential information.
