I’ve received the attached letters, twice within the past two months, addressed to an ******* * ********** , who does not live at this address, from this return seen address. Further investigation shows this address comes from a possible scam business named “IMS” . 1st letter received on 10/11/2022 was written on by me,
“Return to sender “ as this person does not live here. Letter was sent back by ups mail same day. Today, November 30, 2022 I received another letter, same return address , with same name addressed to, ******* * **********. Again, now for the 2nd time. I wrote “Return to sender, does not live here “
again and will send back this time, via delivery confirmation to assure its return I’ve also received home calls from ***** ******** from this possible scam / solicitation entity and associated numbers as Unknown, coming from same location. I do not know who this solicitor business/company is and do not have any business with. As a Department Of Justice employee, my personal safety and identity is paramount and is strictly enforced via my credit report as active military personnel. I’m demanding / asking the BBB to intervene and document this activity and send cease and desist of any further correspondence/ communication or contact to my home for this person ******* * **********. Any further communication, correspondence or letters from this company will be considered harassment and further investigation with the NJ and NY Attorney Generals Offices will commence
I’m asking the BBB to 1st contact this entity and stop any further communication before a criminal complaint would begin. Copy of my discount with my Cell provider attached as to my employment in law enforcement attached. This communication from MIS must stop Immediately

Complaint ID #: ******** Dear John , In regards to the complaint #******** filed with your organization by ****** **********, I would like to respond regarding the details of the complaint.  We apologize to Mr ********** for the communications he has received. IMS is a transactional printer – we print and mail for hundreds of customers including credit unions, healthcare companies, marketing firms and collection agencies.  IMS does not maintain any data – we receive information from our customers to in the form of either precomposed letters or formatted data that we merge to templates we manage on behalf of our customers.  We also provide return mail services for several companies - including collection agencies – whereby our address is used as the return address on letters sent and we will update our customers as to undeliverable mail received.    We were able to go back into our processing history and found information for ******* ********** and we identified the customer that sends it to us.  As it turns out, this customer requests that we run all data through a **** change of address service prior to mailing.  ******* **********’s name has not come up in any of the past change of address processing done prior to mailing.  When we received your inquiry, we again ran the name and address combination through the **** change of address system and still, there is no indication of any move for ******* S **********.  Because of this – we have continued to mail to the address provided to us by the client.  In regards to the statement that Mr ********** has received home calls from our number, IMS does not now – nor have we ever – provided any solicitation, collection or calling service to our customers – and we do not allow them to do so using our number.   Under no circumstance should Mr ********** have received any calls from us unless during his investigation, he initiated a call to IMS that we then returned. I have no record of this - but that scenario would be the only possibility.  We have identified the customer that we received Mr **********’s information from and have notified them of the address move.  Typically this will result in letters no longer being mailed however that is based on the timeliness of our customer updating their system.  There may already have been further communications in process since we received this complaint and subsequently notified them.  Unfortunately, while we sympathize with Mr **********, we cannot take it upon ourselves to screen and withhold communications to him from our customers without their direction. IMS has been in business for 30+ years and we take matters of communication and privacy very seriously.  We are committed to working with our customers to ensure the accuracy of the information they send and to help ensure that errors such as this are corrected as soon as possible.  Please let me know if there is any additional information I can provide.  You can reach me at ***** ******** or at ********************** Thank you Sincerely Stephen S******   General Manager

      Customer Answer

      Date: 01/05/2023

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

      Regards,

****** ********** As stated in IMS response, they do not maintain updated data as to mailing but rely on client information. This company has not supplied whom there clients are for further investigation and transparency. Although they seem to defend there companies actions as to how they process requests, **** has had many major issues and data breach issues with complaints throughout the USA in recent two years. Just relying on **** for vindication as an answer to possibly further continued sending Mail or correspondence to my home for a person that doesn’t live here, after being informed via a complaint, is further information that they, as a company they say they take orders from a client and will continue to do so unless there client advises otherwise will now allow me the opportunity to not only hold this company liable for continued harassment with letters being sent to my home but also allowing me to FOIA request their clients information and other vital information.  Such information will be forwarded to the NJ Department Of Attorney General’s office as well as NJ Attorney General’s office for further investigation and possible abuse of the federal government’s postal system.  As I wrote to the BBB yesterday, January 5, 2022 if IMS client is one whom a complaint was already filed a complaint with same actions to cease and desist in 2022, that company and IMS will be liable for damages as documentation has already been provided/Submitted then.   It seems companies that are shady charters are now using other methods of circumventing regulations now, using other techniques to further their aggressive practices/ behavior after being warned in complaint’s.  I will now use this information to further this investigation with the help of state and federal law enforcement agencies at my disposal.   Note: Any further communication, ie phone calls, letters or any form of communication from this  company will result in a formal criminal complaint with court subpoenas for their clients information to remedy this situation.  I’ve spoken to the law office of ******* ** ******* in Woodbury NJ and I’m prepared to file suit if necessary    I will ask for all legal fees and court costs to this if this happens to protect myself and my position working in law enforcement.
