UNFCU sent me an email communication that I made a request to withdraw a credit card dispute, and then at the same time reversed the credit and charged my account. It is false. I never withdrew this dispute and the funds should be returned to my account immediately.Business Response

To ****** ********, BBB Complaint Analyst:
UNFCU conducted in-depth research on this complaint. Although Priority Pass confirmed the validity of the charge in question, they issued a refund of $128 on August 27, 2024. This overlapped with the provisional credit we had applied for before the merchant issued the refund. We reversed the provisional credit on August 21, 2024.
We confirm that the $128 merchant refund is now reflected in *** ****** account. Our internal investigation determined that no further credit is owed, as the courtesy refund from Priority Pass has already posted and resolved the disputed amount.
Our team has been in communications with *** **** and this outcome has been communicated to the member as well.
Sincerely,UNFCU ********************* Director

The complaint is about UNFCU **** credit card and fraudulent charges claimed by a merchant, car rental company. The merchant claimed non existent damage to the rental car, although I have provided picture of the same damage that existed when I picked up and returned the car.UNFCU did not respond for more than a month, and rejected claim without a response from the merchant. The merchant instead sent back an generic e-mail stating I have signed a contract?I was unable to use **** credit card protection in case of car damage (CDW), as the period for filing a claim expired.Business Response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:Dear ******.
Thank you for your action, and thank to UNFCU's admin response and reimbursement of the disputed amount.
However, the issue with the fraudulent merchant still persists and it is not a good precedent.
Also, I do not see what I could do better to protect both myself and UNFCU/Visa from this behaviour.Thank you.

I have been a member of this credit union since about **** and have purchased 3 homes with their financing. when I decided to purchase a 4th home, the credit union provided a pre-approval letter for the expected amount of purchase even ordered an appraisal which required first proof of payment of the down payment. I therefore made the down payment and ******* money and also ordered an evaluation of the building and a termite evaluation. Based on all of these, the agent set the closing date. 2 working days before closing, the credit union requested additional information from me. I struggled to put in place all the information but off-course the closing had to be extended. Then 3 days before the next closing and past the due diligence period, the credit union came back again with more conditions including the requirement for me to sell my home in ******* which is already completely paid-off. I got back to them asking why all those conditions were not put on the table from the very beginning of the process and had to wait till the very end, few days before closing. They insisted that all those conditions had to be met. After keeping the seller waiting for months, it became obvious that we were going no where. I asked them to give me a decline letter to send to the buyer. That also took several days to come. At the end, I lost :Down payment = $ ***** 2- Appraisal by a UNFCU contractor = $ 700 3- Home inspection = $ **** 4- Termite inspection = $ 350 I spent a total of $ 10,350.I asked for a refund and they declined telling me that I would get a credit in my new loan request. I want my money refunded and compensation for all the trauma that my family and I have gone through.Customer Answer
