We had a mortgage refinance through Intercontinental Capital Group. We were duped by Intercontinental Capital Group. We spoke with *********************** with ICG. We told her that we were NOT INTERESTED in any refinance that would have us pay any kind of monies upfront. Especially over $2,000. We were told that was what would happen. Instead, IGC inserted an "escrow advance " of over $4000. We were upset about this and contacted IGC. They eventually claimed that we were to receive a escrow overage payment from the prior mortgage company. This was not the case. We received $291 in funds. IGC claimed that they checked and we would receive funds from prior mortgage company to cover the "escrow advance. " This was patently false. IGC keeps harassing us , and demanded payment for funds we never received.Customer Answer

We have been trying to reach the company for several months regarding completed reports we have provided them. They told us our issues would be resolved and they would take care of them and then now all of a sudden we can't get a hold of anyone. All the phone numbers and emails are bounced back and no one will contact us. We can't find anything about them closing doors or shutting down, but no one will get back to us. We need a solution to the appraisals we completed for them.Business Response

I looked up this borrower by name and address and could not find anything on them.
Can they provide me a Loan Number or the name of someone they spoke with who requested the documents.
WE ARE NOT CLOSED (not yelling). We are down sizing and closing most branches across the country in order to help get ** back on track.
As you can guess the Mortgage Industry specifically took a big hit several months back and we are slowly but surely making our way out of it.
Here is my cell phone number *************) if they need some one to talk to directly. Thank you.

We can appreciate your eagerness in resolving this matter of open invoices and we are doing our best to work towards a positive resolution.
We acknowledge and are certainly aware of the complaint you lodged against us and would also like to resolve it to everyones expectations; however, due to the current economic conditions of our industry we find ourselves, as well as many others, in a fnancial hardship. We are doing our best to work through it and aim for a benefcial outcome for us both. I have explained to the *** your decline of reducing the amount owed because you have already paid the vendors and are not willing to make further concessions. To move forward he has agreed to a payment plan offer of $10.00 per month to being with and when, and if, things get better, we will discuss incremental increases. Please feel free to contact us with any updates and we will do the same. Any questions or if you would like to discuss things further with our *** please call me at ************ with your phone number and I will put you in contact with him. He is currently working remote and needs to monitor his incoming phone calls. Thank you.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:Hello, we have been trying to discuss a plan of action with your company for months. Actually for over a year and a half and it has gone on deaf ear. We have been patient and offered many solutions with only a silent return. Everyone in is hardships and yet we still had to pay on your behalf. We provided you services and again have been patient and you did not only not fulfill your role, you have gone *** several times with no response. If you want to discuss further you can send $1000 to us immediately out of good faith and then we can talk payment plans before we take further action than just BBB. At this point, you have refused to contact me back directly both phone and email for the services we have provided. You are only responding here to try and save the report going out on BBB. You have all our contact Information if you would all like to make this right.

We have spoken to ******************** and he said he now understands what happened. His confusion began with the check he sent ICG for Sept 2022 which was forward to Verus on his behalf and then was returned to him. He said he did not know why it was returned and what if anything did he need to do. I explained it was the check he sent ICG for the payment and instead of depositing it and sending an ICG check for his payment we just endorsed and forwarded his check. The confusion seems to be why ***** did not deposit and credit his account. All is resolved and he is happy. He has been provided direct contact info in case he has any further questions.Initial Complaint

Back on October 21, **************************************************************** the mail about solar (letter uploaded). There was a **** gift card attached and the letter clearly stated "Call to Activate - No Obligation". The body of the letter stated "we are so confident that we can save you a minimum of $5,000 on the same system by choosing us that we will activate this $200 card today if we are unable to save you $5,000 or more". It also states "To get your $200 is simple. Just call us and hear our price and compare it to what you are being charged." I called ICG, spoke with a rep ********* provided all of my personal info and all paperwork requested, and after providing their estimate, not only was it more than my current monthly ****** bills, but it was also more than previous solar estimates that I had received early in the year (which I had also provided to ****** at ICG.I've spoken with a couple different reps, and requested to speak with a manager (******, who happened to be busy) and was supposed to call me back. That never happened. I continued to correspond with ****** several times who said that he was waiting for management to approve and activate the gift card. He also stated that it shouldn't be a problem. Meanwhile, almost 3 weeks later, and nothing is happening, and management is not getting back to me.I'm sure this offer is a ploy to **** consumers in with the hopes that nobody will push to received the gift card. Bad business and dishonest. I'd like to receive the gift card that was offered to me.Business Response

On October 13, 2022, I was contacted by ******************* at ICG asking if I was interested in buying solar for my home. I told him that our HOA would not allow solar. He then asked me if I was interested in refinancing since in and around April 2019, **** had helped me secure a home loan (and I am guessing that is how he had my contact information). I told him I would be interested in securing a HELOC. **** sent me an email with the documents I should send to him, such as last 2 years of W2, my ID, paystubs, home insurance and current mortgage statement. I sent all those documents to **** and to date I have not received a phone call or email back. I have been trying to reach **** via email and phone calls and no response. I left a message on the company's toll free number and no response! I am concerned since **** has my SSN, photo ID and address that this was a scam. Is ICG even still in business?Customer Answer

I received a marketing flyer via *** stating that if the company could not save me 20% on my electric bill. I would be given a $200 gift card which was attached to the flyer. When I called it was verified they could not save me 20% on my electric bill but they refuse to give me the $200 gift card. when I called it was verified they could not save me 20% on my electric bill but they refuse to activate the $200 gift card. I received an offer in the mail from ICG related to my current planned solar installation. The offer plainly stated that if I call and let them give me a quote for my solar, and they can't save me more than $5,000 on the same system, that they would activate a $200 **** gift card.I called and provided the necessary information for a proposal. The salesperson (who is actually a mortgage lender, not a solar expert) provided a proposal from Powur (which appears to be an unaffiliated solar group). The first proposal didn't save $5,000 AND used a different system/components than my current proposal. The salesperson went back to his manager and sent another quote, which still didn't match my current proposal and still didn't save $5,000. I didn't feel confident in their ability to deliver the product, so I decided I was not interested in moving forward and requested the $200 **** be activated. The salesperson seemed annoyed by my request, and it appears that they never intended to honor the initial offer.Business Response
