******************* from JD Masonry was hired to complete a masonry project that involved power washing rock foundation around the exterior part of the house, filling in gaps in the stone foundation, as well as building a three-step stone entrance to be made from blue stone and ground stone for the risers. $200 was given at the time we agreed to the project. **** returned a month later. The girl that was accompanying him poorly power washed the foundation while staring at her I phone and smoking her cigarette. The foundation looked unchanged due to the minimal amount of energy or effort put forth in cleaning. Please note **** stayed in his truck while the girl power washed for no more than 25 min. At this point, we began to become concerned about the quality of their work; however, we decided to give him the benefit of the doubt when he at this point requested half of the amount due which totaled $3000. Please note the entire project was priced at $5800. We gave him a check for $3000 to start, which we were advised he would use the amount for the stone building supplies and to complete half the project. He came back a week later. He and his girl partner had filled the gaps in the stone foundation with the wrong cement and had poured a cement slab. There was no sign of any stone supplies- blue stone, rocks for steps,etc.- or any of the steps built. He then demanded $2300 which would mean he would monetarily have 95% of his sum and we only had nearly 20% of the work completed. We tried to reason with him and even suggested that he bring the supplies to the house and while he is completing the job we would pay him the remaining balance, but instead he wanted the remaining $2300. He angrily peeled out of our driveway while his girl partner yelled at us. We attempted to reach him by text. He replied that he will not finish the job until he is paid the remaining balance. We are new to this location and we have never had a contractor require all money up front.

***** signed a contract for me to power wash and point stone foundation and install set of stone steps 1ft wide x 3ft long its 3 steps down. In that contract is a payment schedule which he agreed to when he signed. we power washed foundation which took most of the day. i returned and pointed the foundation with mortar that is to ************** industry standards. In the contract it states that after power washing and pointing I receive my second payment, I install the footing for the steps thinking ***** was going to make 2nd payment. He did not make the second payment there for he breaks the contract agreement. I explained this to him. He and his wife told me they wanted me to rewrite the contract and compromise on the price something they agree on and give them some references of work that i performed. Are you kidding me. He was mad cause I told him your not going to make second payment I am not going to do any more work.I treat all my customers with respect and courtesy they didnt show any of that to me. This is why I have a contract and i dont have to work for people like that More work was performed on this job then what I was payed for.
