    I hired Sassy Cakes by Alyssa for my wedding dessert platter. We exchanged messages over Facebook Messenger and agreed on certain desserts and a price in June. On June 24, 2022 I paid $169 over Venmo for the deposit. In September I tried to arrange a to-go tasting in NY where she is located. She first told me that her power was out in her building and she would arrange to mail it to my house, which I paid her another $20 for on September 9, 2022. A few weeks passed and she made several excuses as to why the desserts never showed up including that they "got lost in the mail" but provided no tracking number and by the fourth time she claimed they were going to get sent out, she stated that there was an unexpected loss in her family but at this point I decided to cancel and request a refund. Since then I have not heard from her and have received no evidence of a $189 refund in my bank account.

    An order was placed and canceled less than two weeks before the event date. A sample tasting box was sent twice, customer did not receive them, and was only charged for one. A half deposit was given. Typically,  deposits are non refundable. The customer demanded a refund despite our existing policy. After consideration, we issued half of the deposit back to the customers account. The given refund amount was $95.
