I am filing a formal complaint against Advanced Dermatology located at ****************************************************** regarding an issue with a copayment I made at their office on December 6, 2024. During my visit, I was required to pay a $25 copayment, which I paid using my credit card. However, I have since received a collection notice from a debt agency claiming that I still owe the $25.I contacted Advanced Dermatology to explain the situation, and they assured me that they would resolve the matter. Despite this, I continue to receive collection calls demanding the payment. These repeated calls have become both frustrating and concerning, as I have already made the required payment.I am requesting that Advanced Dermatology immediately correct this error, notify the collection agency to cease their collection attempts, and provide me with written confirmation that my account is settled. This situation is not only inconvenient but also potentially damaging to my credit history.I would appreciate the BBBs assistance in ensuring that Advanced Dermatology takes the necessary steps to resolve this issue. Please let me know if you need any additional information.Sincerely,*** ****** **********

In April 2023, I went to Advance Dermatology in ******* for laser hair removal, and was treated by ***************************. I paid $250 for the treatment expecting expert results because it is a medical facility. I had red blotches on my face and soreness for the following three weeks leading up to my next appt. I called before the next scheduled treatment, and said I could not have another treatment because my face was still red with blotches and sore. On the phone, the lady told me to keep the prescheduled appointment anyway so ******* could look. ******* asked me if I wanted another hair removal treatment or treatment for the blood vessels that had been broken. Beyond that she had no remedy, and told me the skin damage existed prior to treatment, which it did not. I have red dots from the laser in several areas where I was treated and broken vessels in the areas she treated. The insurance paid for the visits, but a balance is still owed.I have written after every billing (************* location) asking the fees be waived due to the damages that were done to my skin. I have called serveral times. I cannot get a response. When a laser is set too high, blood vessels explode from the heat and it leaves permanent scarring.I would like the balance due wiaved because I paid over $250. for the initial laser hair removal and my skin was damaged. My follow-up appointments were a direct result of the permanent damages to my skin by the laser treatment I received at Advanced Dermatology, and nothing could be done beyond risking further damage at their hands.

A month ago, Advanced Dermatology sent me a bill for $50 for a missed appointment. I've had several appointments I've attended there and they never call or text you to remind you. It's very disappointing because if they reminded me I would have gone. I complained after my second appointment and was told that they had just hired someone new and just implemented a new system and that in the future this won't be a problem. But this problem has never changed, they never call -- even to give you test results to watch out for something. They say if you don't hear in a few days everything is fine. I called 2 weeks later for a new appointment and then they told me. When I received the $50 bill, I called their office at ************** and spoke to ***** who said there was nothing she could do about it. I asked ok who do I need to speak to then? She said the manager but the manager's not here. I asked ok can you have the manager call me? I had to keep asking more questions. She said she'd leave a message. I never heard back. I also called ******** which told me that it is illegal for this office to charge someone who is on ******** a late fee, and that second of all, it's illegal to charge anyone they haven't reminded, it's called miscommunication. Then I called their billing department and left a voicemail. They never called me back either. Then a couple of weeks ago, I called the office again and their answering service took my message. They returned my call by leaving me a voice message saying that I owed them $50 and that they had called me. It's a lie. I was sitting right here, they never called or texted and I have proof of my phone records. I left a second message with their answering service explaining why they can't charge me $50 when they never send reminders to their patients. They've never called back again, and today just received the $50 bill in the mail again.

I received a bill from Advanced Dermatology for Acne Surgery. I have not had Acne Surgery. I am a middle aged woman. I went in for a mole check. I phoned into the office and was given the run around. I have also emailed with them extensively. This fraudulent bill has now gone to collections. They also double billed me for my copays. This is completely unethical.

I took my son to the dermatologist for acne treatment. I have gone to this office for services myself in the past so I know they are in my insurance network. They charged my insurance company $223 for acne surgery when in reality the doctor popped no more than 5 small pimples on his face and told me to schedule another appt in 2 weeks. After seeing how she didn't really even look at my sons face I decided not to go back. Then I receive a **** in the mail for $77 because my insurance didn't cover the full price of the so called acne surgery. As a medical asst I know if you are in network the medical facility takes the allowable amount from insurance they aren't allowed to go back and charge the customer for left over expenses. If it was out of network they can but that isn't the case here. When I reached out to the office they send you to voicemail and say they will call back but never do. I called the appt line and they were able to transfer me to a person in billing who was extremely rude and nasty. Even after telling her I reached out to my insurance company and they agreed I can not be charged for the remaining balance she told me she didn't care what insurance said I needed to pay the fee. I asked for a direct number to contact billing so Emblem could reach out and settle the matter she told me they would have to leave a message like everyone else because they weren't special. It has been a few weeks and Emblem still has not been able to get in touch with billing.

      Good Afternoon,

My name is ************ and I am the Regional Director at Advanced Dermatology Associated.  This is in regards to the above complaint number. This procedure that was done on the patient was a cosmetic procedure and not a medical one. This is why the patient is being charged. Also I looked in her chart plus spoke with our ****************** and the patient mother has never called us so that statement is false. If additional records are needed I will be happy to send them. The patient balance is $77.00.

      Sincerely,
