STAY AWAY. My interaction started out fine- they were sent by our insurance ** to look at our boiler and AC unit. The tech was nice, but took only 5 minutes to diagnose both issues. He advised there may be additional **sts that the insurance didn't **ver- no surprise there, I just asked that they provide detail on those **sts. As soon as the insurance **mpany approved the claim, it was high pressure from them to hand over $4k IN CASH and schedule the install for the following day. This caused more alarms to go off, and I advised I needed a breakdown of the **sts before moving forward. At this time I checked their reviews and realized they have some history of predatory activity with insurance customers. Got the breakdown and saw a lot of "modifications" listed. These are notably items insurance doesn't **ver that require out-of-pocket from the homeowner. More alarm bells. So I reached out to inquire why modifications were needed if we were replacing with the same items. I was advised, in writing, that this was because they were replacing my 410A unit with an R32, which required mods otherwise it would cause my house to EXPLODE. Certainly can't argue with that I guess? Well, they clearly didn't expect me to verify this information, because they got very angry after I verified with the insurance **mpany that it was in fact the exact same 410A unit, and came back to advise them that none of the mods should be applicable. I received an agitated call, during which I simply asked why these mods would be needed if they weren't in fact replacing with this "explosive" unit, as had been explained to me. The woman started screaming at me belligerently, never answering this question. This **ntinued for **************************************************************************************** I didn't know what I was talking about. Needless to say I did not move forward, but I thought people should know about the scams they pull so they can protect themselves.

This would be a 0 star review if possible We purchased the Homeserve plan for ac/conditioning unit Oct. 2023.June 2024, the ac unit which cools the second floor of our home completely shut down. We called ********* immediately to set up a service appointment. It took a few days to get an appointment as temperatures were extremely hot and providers in the area were fully booked. Finally, Aurora ************ (***************) was assigned to our request. They came in the evening and told us the freon was depleted and that we would need 10 pounds of freon to replace and it would be $100/lb of Freon . Homeserve only covers 1 pound . So we paid the remainder. Our ac worked for a few weeks then shut down again . When we contacted ********* for another service call, a new provider came after a few days. This provider stated that :1. there is a leak 2. there is no way the unit we have holds 10 lbs of Freon This provider checked in with ********* and ********* told us they will send the original company (Aurora) . We also called the manufacturer of our ac unit and they also said it holds max 6lbs of Freon. Aurora called us and quoted us over $12,000 to replace the unit and for other costs . They did not even come back to assess the leak . We ended up calling another provider on our own who diagnosed the issue and fixed the problem appropriately and for the fair price .We then filed a reimbursement claim with *********, which was denied on grounds that we agreed to pay Aurora . We agreed with the thought that this company was a reliable company backed by ********* and would not cheat us . We were cheated out of $900 for poor work and poor customer service . Keep your money and hire honest providers .
