    We paid Zach $1000 to level an area of our property for a pool. His company came out on May 27th 2022, spent very little time. I asked if they had packed the dirt down so the pool would be level when we set it up, he assured us we didn't need it packed in. We trusted his expertise and paid him $1000 in cash before he left, and we immediately set the pool up. We immediately noticed the water was pooling to one side. Zach did not take any responsibility, and tried to blame us, the pool, our yard, and everything else you could have imagined. He said fill it up completely and send pictures when it was full. The water level in the above-ground pool ended up being off by an entire foot or more on one side. Zach refused to come back and fix it or provide a refund. We sued him in small claims court but because Zach refused to provide us with a receipt upon our request, the case was dismissed because we could not prove damages. However, the Court did find in its decision that Zach's testimony was "not credible", and that Zach "breached the oral agreement by his failure to level the land in a good and workmanlike manner". A copy of the Court decision finding his negligence is available to anyone upon request.
