We traveled with Air India from ***************** to ***** for a once-in-a-lifetime wedding. Upon arrival, all four of our checked bags were missing. The luggage was delayed for six dayshalf the duration of our 12-day tripand Air Indias handling of the situation was shockingly unprofessional.Despite providing a valid Property Irregularity Report (PIR) number, we were told there was no record of our luggage. Later, a representative claimed the bags were en route to *****. However, thanks to AirTags we had placed in each suitcase, we could see that our bags had never left the U.S.instead, they were transported up I-95 to ********, sat at ***, and were then stored for several days in a facility in *********Throughout this time, we contacted Air India repeatedly and were given false or dismissive responses. Agents denied the validity of our PIR number and told us to be patient, even as we provided real-time location data showing exactly where the luggage was. We were left with no clothing or essentials during an important and emotional family event, and had to spend hundreds of dollars on emergency items. After finally recovering our bags, Air India offered a total of $200 in compensationjust $50 per personwhich we find deeply insulting given the disruption and stress this caused. Their final response: We have no more inputs to add. No accountability, no sincerity, no real attempt to make things right. We have filed a formal complaint with the ********************************* and plan to take this story public to help others avoid a similar experience. This was not a minor inconvenienceit was a total failure of service during one of the most important trips of our lives.Air Indias treatment of its passengers is unacceptable. Travelers deserve honesty, professionalism, and a real commitment to customer carenone of which we received.

I would like to express my disappointment with the services provided by Air India during my recent trip. My family and I traveled from Vijayawada to Delhi, and then on to Washington, DC, on September 21st, arriving on the morning of September 22nd. I was traveling with my wife, our 2-year-old daughter, and my brother.
We checked in approximately 10 bags, but only 4 of them arrived at our destination. There was no efficient communication regarding the status of our missing bags. After two days, 4 bags were finally delivered to our home. However, one of those bags was severely damaged and weighed only 46 lbs instead of the expected 50 lbs.
Three days later, 2 more bags were delivered, and one of them also showed clear signs of damage and was open upon arrival. When we raised our concerns with Air India about the missing items and the discrepancies in weight, we received a standard response stating that it is the passenger's responsibility not to carry valuable items in checked baggage.
We found this response unacceptable. As passengers, we expect our luggage to be handled safely and securely. How can we be expected to remain silent when our bags are delivered in poor condition and with missing contents? While the missing items may not have been highly valuable, it is still unacceptable to receive a bag that is not fully intact.
Overall, we are deeply disappointed with the handling of our luggage by Air India and hope that our feedback will prompt improvements in their service

Changed my booking 4.5 hours before my flight and then cancelled my return flight booking. I bought a ticket in May to visit in September. I had never flown Air India before but I thought I should try since I'm Indian. A couple days before my flight, I upgraded one leg of my outbound flight to Business class, as I was dealing with some stress at home and thought it could be a treat. The morning of my flight, Air India JFK calls me and says they have moved me to an Emirates flight, one that arrives later and leaves earlier--3 hours from when they called me. I'm at home because I still have 4.5 hours until my flight! I beg them to not make this change, and they refused. I rush to the airport, where they tell me they have to change my flight back. This was so stressful the morning of my flight and cost me a $100 cab since I thought I had to rush to the airport. But ok, I'm back on my original flight and sitting in business class. During the flight, the stewardess repeatedly refers to me as "sir--uh ma'am," likely due to my short hair. Once, I understand. Repeatedly? She's trying to make me feel bad. She's being rude and unprofessional for no reason.
Then I'm getting ready to head back to NYC and I realize I haven't received an email from Air India about my flight. I check online and it says my booking is voluntarily cancelled--but I did not do this. I called, finally get through to someone and they say I cancelled my flight booking. I tell them I absolutely did not. Finally they realise they cancelled it on their end. They say someone will call me later. They don't. I call and someone tells me to write a complaint and it will be resolved in 24 hours. It isn't. I call. They say to wait. It's been 36 hours since I first called and 26 hours since my complaint and there's no response from them. I'm supposed to head back the day after tomorrow, in 48 hours. Awful customer service, intentional breaching of contract, terrible communication.

Ground *** They are not so professional. Dont listen to the passengers. For example, I requested an Aisle seat and was confirmed at the Check-in counter but as soon as I was on board the flight it wasnt. The *** lied to me that he selected an Aisle seat for me.Food - Okay for local or native peoples but not for international passengers. For example, I had one of the Veg-rolls, and my entire journey I couldn't eat anything. I wasnt feeling good after that.Equipment: Seats are terrible (broken, so filthy, etc) possible maintenance has not been done for a long time. Also, during my 15-hour flight (From ***** to ***) the entertainment system in the whole flight did not work at all. To me, this cannot be an international flight service. They are charging the same amount of money as other international airlines but the service is terrible.

Expecting service improvement with TATA's takeover of AIR India, I made my travel booking through AIR India. My travel nightmare with Air India started from check-in process on May 28th 2024 to AI472 at *************, Check-in agent asked me to remove 2 kgs (with laptop and few clothes for 2 day flight time crossed 8 kgs), I did and gave it to my driver waiting for my check-in. Agent made me check in my carry on (he says I may add removed stuff back to my carryon) though I requested him I need essentials for my long international travel. My VTZ-DEL got delayed and made me so tensed for catching second flight as I do not have my carry-on. Caught the flight, but my travel nightmare continued on DEL-IAD AI 103. No onboard Video system working. 15 hour flight with NO video/audio, Decided to use my phone, NO Internet/Wi-Fi provided. As my carryon checked in, NO cable to charge my phone and with battery at 0%, NO reading book (in Carry on), literally had a bad 15 hours flight time. This continued after my arrival at ***, One of my checked bad did NOT show-up. When I checked with Air India team, they said due to pay load (load on the flight), they did not bring almost 70 checked bags and mine is one of them. NO details other than the form showing bag missed. Asked me to contact the phone number and/or email on the form.Tried contacting them over phone and also sent couple of email and no response so far for email and no one answering the Phone. It is more than 4 days after arrival and my checked bag did not come yet and no communication from AIR India. Not sure what I can do to get my checked bag back and get this escalated to Air India and *** Aviation/Travel department. Please suggest any phone numbers or channels I can contact to get this resolved.

Dec 2023 for a March 2024 flight, sold me a separate seat for my infant which I discussed was for use of a car seat for safety and comfort on a flight, then told me I couldn't actually use a car seat due to "DGCA regulations." When I had time to research and point out that DGCA actually has put out a bulletin requiring better child restraint systems to be implemented as of Feb 2022 due to an investigation of an Air India Express flight that crashed in which many children (and all but a few passengers) were injured or killed, they told me they would refund me and allow me to use the car seat (which is FAA approved and does fit on the aircraft properly) on my return flight. I did use the car seat on my return flight but no refund has happened for the flight to India, despite the fact that there was an entirely separate booking for my infant, sold to me for the purposes of having the infant in that seat. **************** cannot keep it's story straight and has been a nightmare.

Our journey to and from India on flights AI126 (24 December 2023) and AI101 (14 January 2024) with our two sons, aged 8 and 9, was profoundly disappointing. The aircraft was plagued with several issues: seats that wouldn't adjust, broken food trays, malfunctioning lavatories, and an entertainment system that was out of service. The meal options were not suitable for children, and the flight attendants seemed indifferent to our concerns. Our experience onboard was far from pleasant. The cabin's cleanliness was notably poor, with the lavatories in a particularly dire state from the outset, and the presence of pests exacerbated our discomfort. The non-functional entertainment system presented a challenge in keeping young children engaged during the long flight. Moreover, the limited accessibility for personal headphones and the worn condition of provided amenities like pillows only detracted further from our comfort. A significant lapse in service occurred when, despite assurances, meal service for my sleeping children was not fulfilled, with the excuse of depleted stock. This situation was particularly frustrating given the cost of ***********. I have documented evidence of these conditions, barring the meal issue. Having traveled extensively over the years, this flight ranks as my worst experience to date. I am compelled to advise against choosing Air India for travel, based on this experience.

Air India Is a horrible airline . When a passenger pays for a buisness class ticket, they expect to be given the seat that they have chosen in the buisness class that they paid for . Instead, I was told to go and sit in economy class when I had paid $7700.00 for the tickets I bought .. ************* is worthless. There food is rotten . Ttheir movie monitors do not work and they did not have WIFi. They give seats that you had paid hard earned money for to people who maybe related to executives and move you to lower class seats . This is bad buisness and sanctions of unethical conduct should be brought to the Airline . I expect gull refund of my $7700.00 and claim for damages of harassment that were allowed to be done on the plane . I was not only asked to move to the economy class, but also asked to change seats in the economy class. Those responsible should be taken to task and punished . It is the worst airline that I have ever been on and I would advocate de no one to ever go on that plane again .

I'm disappointed with my Air India flight from ******* to *****. The plane had numerous issues, including immovable seats, malfunctioning food trays, bathroom trash cans, and out-of-service entertainment. The food was subpar, and the air hostesses were unapologetic, highlighting the need for training. The aircraft itself was notably old.
