This is with regards to ZogSports LA, specifically their pickleball league, but is also relevant to their overall business practice. The simple summary is that ZogSports LA sold me membership in their Outdoor Pickleball League without telling me they had no pickleball courts. I paid, rsvp'ed for the game and showed up to the specified location that weekend to find nobody there. I couldn't reach anyone at Zog, so I tried emailing one of the other players. They forwarded me an email from Zog that they had received on Friday, the same day *** was signing me up, that said *** had lost their facility permit and was actively looking for a new location. NONE of that was communicated to me when I was signing up. On emailing Zog, I was told they'd find new courts. I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt before disputing the charge. However when they did eventually find "new courts," I show up at the new location to find tennis courts, NOT pickleball. Someone from Zog brought rubber corners to approximate the pickleball boundaries, but there were no lines, no pickleball net and no kitchen line. Visit Glassell Park there are no pickleball courts. Despite other players sharing that they had successfully received refunds, *** refused my request for a refund, citing from their refund policy that:"We do not give refunds when things don't go as planned."In simplest terms that means one can sign up for a particular sport and, if they can't find a facility for that sport, no refund.Based on my experience, I would very much warn folks away from Zog and cite them for very poor customer service and lack of transparent communication. They offered me partial credit, but why would I accept credit for a sport at the same location where they cannot offer the basic requirements?
