**** ***** from **************** (also known as *********************) is a fraud artist. He takes money from people, and simply does not do the work. This is a routine issue, and he refuses to pay people back. He has owed me thousands of dollars for over 9 months.Initial Complaint

Though recommended by a friend, he was rather aggressive in his initial follow-up to get a contract signed and to get a 50% deposit delivered fast, well in advance. It might be fair to say he was all over me in an intense way. I was a bit surprised about that and it made me wonder if using him was a good idea, but he came recommended.After the deposit was sent, things quickly went downhill. The start day came and went. First he was confused about the date. Then a family member went to the *** then the family member died; of course I was sympathetic and let that explain some delay. All along, he said multiple times, the crew would come without him (2 people came for 3 hours without enough material for 1 room and did very poor work, not even completing 1/20th of the total work). I postponed travel, had a mess in my apartment, missed work, then flew back early because he "promised" to start the next Monday, 2 weeks after the initial start date.That Monday when he again didn't show up, based on his prior offer, we mutually agreed to cancel the contract. He agreed he would return the money, in full ,within a few days. Multiple commitment dates to return the money have come and gone. I have followed-up at least 10 times. My contractor friend has tried to help get the money back as well. So 5 weeks after the cancel date and 7 weeks after when the job was supposed to be finished, I'm still trying to get my deposit back - a deposit which he promised to ********* project was delayed over a month; I'm paying significantly more to get the job done; I've lived with a mess; and now, I'm in the process of taking him to court to get my deposit returned. I've used numerous contractors and not all are perfect but this is the worst experience I have ever.Initial Complaint

This company is nothing but false promises and criminal activity. They left without finishing a first job . I hired contractors to finish work @15,000.00. Gave deposit of ********* to add addition to kitchen , after seeing such a bad performance, asked for deposit back the same month . He is still holding our money and offered a check that bounced and excuses for over 4 months. Still do not have my money . Clients beware , he has other complaints on BBB as well .Initial Complaint

I contracted this business to do masonry repair and roof work on a Harlem brownstone, back in August 31st, 2022. I received NO updates regarding the work Gregg Home Improvements *** were contracted to do. It has now been 9 months since the contract was signed and funds in the amount of $12,950 were transferred to Gregg Home Improvements *** for the work to be started.In my communications with **** Gregg of this business, he has stated that he and his company will be unable to conduct the work, and will issue a prompt refund. I have received NO refund, and continually only excuses that the refund will be made. I request the $12,950 Gregg Home Improvements *** have already been paid for this job. This company has done NO work that they were contracted to do.Customer Answer

I hired **** **********************/********************** Home Improvements to put a new roof on my home in 2019. His work was unsatisfactory and the roof has leaked since he did the job. He tried to fix his work but has been unable to do so. After almost 4 years and numerous chances to correct his work, I suggested we hire another roofer. Instead, he offered me a refund. After weeks of saying he would pay me I got a check that bounced due to insufficient funds. He offered a wire transfer and sent me screenshots showing a transfer. I didnt receive the money so I called the bank and was told that a wire transfer was never initiated. I requested a confirmation of the wire from *** ********************** which he refused to provide. My wife reached out to him about the wire and he said hed done it and didnt know why it hadnt gone through. He said he couldnt immediately send the money because it was taken out of his account (bank stated this is untrue) and he would have to wait for it to be returned. She requested a 3-way call with the bank, he refused. She asked if he could send anything as an act of good faith and he said hed send $3K by the end of the day but didnt send anything and didnt call/text. I left a negative review online and he responded with a post containing multiple lies, some of which are slanderous. He wrote that hes provided a refund which is false. He also wrote that he knows I have pulled this same sort of thing before with other contractors, which is false. At this point he has $8K of my money, never properly completed the job, strung me along about the refund, sent a check that bounced, lied about a wire transfer, wrote lies about me online, cursed at me and sent threatening texts. Recently he stated my only 2 options are to wait for him to pay me on his time or hire a lawyer. He said if I go to a lawyer, h*** claim that he doesnt have the money (despite telling me he does) and will likely be given up to a year by a court to send payment. P.S. I disagree with **** he does not have an agreement with my wife if **** does please have him show proof of this agreement please. **** is not trust worthy to take him at his word from all the personal experience with him so this matter is NOT SATISFIED. Also i wrote a review on BBB on 3/22/23 and **** responded to the review and in his response he claimed he refunded me my funds already if **** refunded me already how could he have an agreement with my wife which is not true, I also wrote a review on Yelp and **** resposeded and in which he claimed he refunded my funds i have copies of all that i'm writing and will show that im telling the truth.
