    CONTEXT: I was on a trip with two of my friends to *************. We had plans to visit *********************. THE ISSUE: On February 3rd, we got off the subway at the stop for Staten Island. A woman in a blue vest stopped us and asked if we needed help finding the ferry. After we explained our plans to ride the ferry, she recommended the tour she represented instead. She said that they stopped selling tickets at 3:30 (it was 3:15), so we would have to hurry for the tour. She said it was an ***** minute ride and that we could easily make our dinner reservations.This sounded ideal, so the three of us bought tickets.However, what we were NOT told is that the tour was at 5:00pm. We waited in queue for a bus to the ferry terminal for almost an hour. At 4:00pm, we boarded the bus, and were told that the boat would not depart until 5:00pm.We spoke to the owner (*************************) to try to get an explanation and a refund. He said that they use third-party sellers who make commission. We explained that the representative lied by omission, and was deceiving with the times in order to make a sale. He was aware of these practices but implied that he could not control what the salespeople said.We had dinner reservations for 7:00pm, so we could not stay for the tour. We left the terminal after riding the bus (which was an unexplained ***** minute ride) and trying to get information from ******.FURTHER LOSS: Not only did each of us lose $46.99 per ticket, but we were unable to follow through with any ferry plans due to time constraints outside of our control. This impacted our trip.OTHER ISSUES: The next day (Feb 4), we tried to call the number given to us for support; and it was out of order. We emailed the business but have yet to hear back. On ******* the business has a 3.4 star rating with MANY reviews detailing this same incident occurring, especially with deception of a last chance ticket sale.
