1 starI'm a financial advisor and when using ****** or ******* I get your ads making misleading statements about seniors being exempt from capital gains taxes and other misleading tactics to drive traffic to have them fill out a form to be called by an advisor to discuss this exemption. It doesn't exist. Stop it.Review fromDeAnna T

I'm supposedly a "customer" who filled out the ********************** form, and I DID NOT DO SO. I unsubcribed from their unsolicited email, but now I'm constantly getting calls and emails from financial advisors who think I'm a real lead. If anyone from SmartAsset plans on replying to this, then your firm needs to check where you're getting your leads from. I EMPHATICALLY DID NOT SIGN UP FOR YOUR SERVICES AND I DON'T KNOW WHO USED MY INFO TO DO SO. PLEASE REMOVE ME FROM YOUR LIST IMMEDIATELY.SmartAsset

SmartAsset is a very dishonest company. 100% of the leads they sold me were no good. Two of the phone numbers were fake numbers. By no means were these leads vetted.SmartAsset

Thank you for your feedback. Lead nurturing and conversion are a numbers game, which can be challenging, and not every lead will result in a client. During your short time on our platform, while you did note that you had a concern about lead quality, you never submitted any leads for invalidation with our advisor support team which made it tricky for us to adequately address your concerns. We also proactively reached out to you multiple times and attempted to provide advice on how to see success with our platform, to which you declined. Many of our successful clients have stated that a strong and consistent sales process is important to maximizing the value of their leads. To this end, our ***************** Platform (AMP) provides automated email and texting outreach to help you nurture leads, as well as warm phone introductions. We're confident that most advisors can be successful with AMP, provided they receive enough leads, have a strong sales process, and put in the work. We'd love to work with you more closely to develop a strategy for your success with our program. Please reach out to **************************************************** to get in touch with a member of our team who can assist.Review fromFred M

Waste of time. They collect your contact information, immediately start calling and it seemed like they were nothing more than a front (sales tool) for ******************** For me, this completely tarnished the reputation of both.SmartAsset

Hello, At the end of the survey you took on 2/2/24, we provided you with your matches and also emailed them to you. During the survey, when you provided your email address to us, you consented to receive your financial advisor results by email as well as marketing communications. In addition, during the survey, you provided your phone number and gave consent to receive marketing calls/texts from SmartAsset and your advisor match(es). If consumers do not provide their phone number and consent to receive contact, they are not matched with an advisor(s). SmartAsset will only contact you initially by phone to attempt to verify your contact information, to see if you would like to be connected in real-time to your match(es), or potentially at a later date to see if you want to be re-matched. On 2/2/24, we reached out and offered to connect you with one of your matches live for a quick introduction. You said no, and we asked if you were interested in speaking with another one of your matches and you responded that you would like to take this on your own. We have removed your information from the SmartAsset database. If you have any questions, please reach out to ****************************************Review fromGary D

Our records show that you were on our platform for four months in 2021 and only received a total of 17 leads during that timeframe. In our commercial agreement with advisers, SmartAsset clearly describes the scope of our services and fully discloses that we do not verify a consumer's self-reported financial information. SmartAsset does attempt to contact each consumer who completes our online questionnaire to verify their interest in being connected to one or more of the adviser matches that were presented. If SmartAsset is unable to contact the User, ********************** will confirm that the user has submitted a working phone number. During the four months that you were on our platform in 2021, we in good faith reviewed leads that you identified as being invalid. All Leads are subjected to a 60-day grace ****** in which advisors can submit a lead for an invalidation review. The parameters for invalidation include: 1) Wrong Number (must not be older than two months), 2) Invalid Number (must not be older than two months), 3) The Lead is a Registered Financial Advisor (verified via Broker-Check), 4) Tech Error (Lead is outside of your preselected radius, outside of your tier bracket, and breakdown of pause), and 5) Duplicate Lead (less than three months). SmartAsset fully complied with our terms of service. SmartAsset did not and does not engage in any deceptive practices. We provided the services to you that were described in the Platform Participation Agreement (PPA). If you would like to discuss this any further, please reach out to us at ****************************************Review fromRenee T

The site is a scam to get your personal information. It says it will provide a list of advisors in your area but does not- the results say they will call you with the names. This results in high pressure sales tactics. False advertising at its lowest.SmartAsset

If you select that you prefer to work with a local advisor, we do our best to match you with an advisor in your area. However, depending on your location, there may not be an advisor that meets the criteria, so we will pair you with a firm that has virtual capabilities. Before you get to the end of the survey, you enter your phone number. On that screen, we notify you of your match(es) are, and you provide your consent for SmartAsset and for the firm(s) (your match(es)) that are listed on that screen to text/ call you. When you get to the end screen, it populates all of the information for your match(es), and it will send you an email that contains a link to that match screen. On the match screen, it notifies you that SmartAsset will contact you to attempt to connect you with your match(es) in real-time. As of 1/17/23, we have removed your information from the SmartAsset database.Review fromReno R

Complete Joke! Bait and switch! My partner and I partnered with Smart Asset and went through a few sales calls in which we point blank asked if the leads were vetted. We were told yes understand that they will be match with 3 potential advisors. This is a complete lie. The leads have no vetting with exception of maybe the phone number works. They try to get around the semantics of what vetting is. We can barely get any clients to answer the phone ever. The clients readily admit there was no vetting done, they spoke with no one at Smart Asset, the do not have the assets they stated online etc... Then good luck getting your account manager to contact you back. We sent 3-4 emails until finally getting a response. I have been in the business for 27 years and have used multiple **************. This is the first that just flat out has deceptive practices to get advisors partner. Use Planwells, much more engaged clients, a fraction of the cost.SmartAsset

Hello,Thank you for reaching out; we take all feedback seriously. To provide context, SmartAsset Advisors LLC SmartAsset is registered with the Securities and ******************* as a registered investment advisor under the Investment Advisers Act of ****. They scammed me out of 6k after I purchased 6k of their leads. After proving to them that the leads were inaccurate, they would only reimburse me if I placed another order. It took a couple of months of haggling with them and I got passed around to many service reps. Dishonest company. I refused to do any more business with them. Bottom line, they took 6k from me.SmartAsset

I see in our records that, over time, you submitted various invalid lead requests. If a lead was to be found invalid, you were provided a credit.
Those parameters which need to be submitted within 90 days include the following:
1) Wrong Number
2) Invalid Number
3) The Lead is a Financial Advisor (verified via ***********)
4) Tech Error (Lead is outside of your preselected radius, outside of your tier bracket, and breakdown of pause)
5) Duplicate Lead
We do not require advisors to purchase more leads to be considered for credit for any invalid leads. We provided the services to you that were described in our Platform Participation Agreement (PPA).Rod H.

I read the response from the company today relative to my review. Clearly, whoever sent that message is confused. While they had replaced a few bad leads along with way, many of the leads that were outside the area parameters and were not replaced after I supplied the factual data to them and they acknowledged the mistake. Rather than making good on it, the woman service rep told me that they agreed to reimburse me but only if I place a new order. I have multiple emails and communication back and forth to support my claim. I would love a higher up in the company to call me but I’m not counting on that because I requested that several times when I had the issue but no attempt was made. True story. A total disgrace.Review fromLee T

As a financial advisor, they completely misrepresented their service and how leads would come to me. These customers did not expect my call nor were they informed about my service and what I do. They also lied to me about their contract to trick me into continuing their service. Horrible.SmartAsset
