Our homeowners insurance company scheduled a consultation with Servpro on December 21, *************************************** our basement flooding. Trusting our insurance company, a Servpro rep came to the house to complete an assessment and ultimately brought a team to complete the work. They committed to moving the items in the basement, drying the basement using various tools, removing all of the trash/ ruined items (as a result of the flood and taking it with them) then cleaning and replacing all of the items to their original location. At that time, the rep stated that he had never seen a floating floor before, so we showed him how it snaps apart and were very clear that we did not want it removed, just dried. The result was a mostly dry basement - they took apart and pulled up the entire floor and threw all of the pieces in the mud (we attempted to speak to the crew about this but even with a translating app they did not understand what we were saying and the rep was no where to be found and could not be contacted). The floor is ruined and not usable. They also broke a window and slammed it into an exhaust pipe. Our shop vac hoses and attachments are missing (they were attached to the shop vac which was labeled with our name). They did not take any trash items, they did throw the futon mattress in the mud as well. And they left buckets overflowing causing even more water to seep onto the now exposed floor. They also chipped a big piece of our epoxy floor to the adjacent space.Despite numerous attempts via email and phone to contact them they do not return any calls or emails and I cannot get anyone on the phone to discuss the matter. I'm left with thousands of dollars in damage. Additionally, the bill was $1,000 more than the agreed upon price. I truly feel that this company took advantage of us while in a vulnerable position - this was Servpro of Midtown Manhattan (who came from out-of-state to assist with the storm)
