On December 3rd, 2022, DataCamp charged me for *two* subscriptions I did not subscribe to, for 99$ and 69$. I previously subscribed to DataCamp in 2019. I received a refund last year on their automatic renewal and my subscription (which was then 149$) should have been canceled. I do not use this service or have any need to. Nonetheless, not only did they change their subscription to two separate subscription (which I did not consent to), they resubscribed me and charged me.

I ordered the online training service and paid $149.00 for one year online lessons to ************ in September 2020, and I naturally thought that this subscription would end in September 2021. It never occurred to me that this is an automatic subscription. I was really surprised to notice that I was charged for $149.00 on 9/14/2022 on my credit card by ************. To my astonishment, I found that I was actually charged another $149.00 by Datacamp on 9/14/2021, which I failed to notice (my bad). ************ never mentioned their subscription would be automatically renewed without any notice. Their account setting doesn't provide an option to cancel or stop subscription. Their customer service on ******** *** not exist. Please check the attached screenshot for my ************ account setting. One can clearly see that there is no option to cancel subscription, and my credit card type doesn't even show in the account. Basically ************ is holding me as a hostage and extort money every year. This is not acceptable by any standards.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********. I am sorry that I made a mistake when I filled a complaint about ************ (case number  ********) today, October 21, 2022. I thought my DataCamp account was associated with my ******** account, where I did not see any subscription renewal/cancel options but still got charged twice without my acknowledgement. I have never received any emails from ************ regarding these two extra ********.  Now I just realized that the referred subscription is under my ****** account, which I have not used for more than two years. Nevertheless, I did see the option about subscription renewal/Cancel in the ****** account.

Therefore, I **** this complaint as resolved. From now on, I will handle this issue directly with ************ by myself.

Hereby, I apologize for the misunderstanding and any inconveniences I caused.

    Sincerely,

    ***********************

DataCampa charged me $249 for annual renewal that i had not idea it was going to be renewed. They did not send any email that my subscription was going to be auto-renew or that my membership was going to be renewed and thus being charged again. I rarely used their service, it does not deliver what I was expecting.

************ is a scammer. It charged me $216.66 for annual renewal. I had no idea that I was on an auto-renew membership. I paid for one year only and they charged my card again this year. They do not issue any notification that my subscription was ending or that my membership was going to be renewed and thus being charged again. I do not understand why I would get charged over twice as much and never informed of this change and never got any permission from me. I disputed the charge with my bank but Datacamp managed to charge me again for the exact same subscription. I did not use their services since the new charge. Please help me get a full refund and I will never ever work with them again. It is really horrible experience.
