1 starI hired Piece of Caking Movingexpecting a basic level of competence. What I got was a textbook case of deception, negligence, and exploitation. They arrived with a van far too smallfor the job, then claimed I never mentionedI had boxes. Boxes. Youre a moving companywhat exactly did you assume you'd be moving? Furniture floating in midair? If boxes werent assumed, then why didnt your sales agent, ******, ask a single clarifying question? His failure to do the bare minimum resulted in an on-the-spot $600 upchargefor a second truckan outrageous and avoidable expense.Because of this delay, I missed the strict 4:30 PM move-in cutofffor my new buildinga deadline I had clearly communicated multiple times. The result? My belongings were held overnight, the move extended to the next day, and I lost two days of pay. Worse still, I was forced to find and pay for a last-minute hotelthat would accept my dog, adding yet another cost caused solely by this companys incompetence. To top it off, I opened just two boxesand found broken wine glasses and shattered dishesa preview, no doubt, of whats to come. Their lack of care extended beyond planning into every aspect of how they handled my belongings. And frankly, its hard to ignore the fact that had I been a man, I might have been treated differently. Instead, I was manipulated, overcharged, and dismissedlikely because they assumed a woman moving alone wouldnt question them. Piece of Caking Moving is not just unprofessional. They are grossly disorganized, stunningly careless, and ethically questionable. Unless youre prepared to be overbilled, disrespected, and left scrambling for shelter, I strongly urge you to take your business elsewhere.Review fromJamie L

1 starDO NOT USE THEM! I have no idea how they have so many good reviews through ******, they must be paying to wipe bad reviews. I had a terrible experience with them. We did the video walk through and gave us a relatively low quote, only to charge us over a thousand more on moving day because we had more stairs and more items than they thought. They nickel and dimed us over so many little things. They sent us a truck that was too small, so we couldn't even fit everything and unfortunately had to leave behind a lot of furniture. They called us later that night and told us we owed an additional thousand dollars because the truck was overweight. If we didn't pay right then during the phone call they would seize our items and charge us additional fees for storage. It was blatant extortion. When they finally arrived with our items we warned them that part our driveway wasn't set yet and not to drive on it. The first thing they did was drive on it and break it. Their response was to have us file an insurance complaint through their company, to which they never responded. We luckily were able to do a charge back through our credit card company for the price of fixing the driveway.Review fromRamonda A

If I could put a p*** emoji I would I hired them as a wheelchair user I needed assistance with ********************** by getting their packing Service however, instead of making it like theyre slogan a piece of cake they made it more of a full nightmare the complete opposite of their slogan I would never recommend this company to any person, especially not somebody in the wheelchair. They overcharge and never seem to be able to take a full payment on the credit card. They always want to collect your cash if I didnt know any better I would think they were a scam artist trying to do money launderingPiece of Cake Moving

2 starsThe base of the floor lamp was broken and no longer stands on its own A ******, Professional aluminum tool kit (18x13x6) fully populated with tools went missing. Meaning, went missing on purpose. The locking screws to the night table disappeared. The top of the table can no longer lock into the stand. Also, a 3x5 dark blue area rug is ********** seemed the movers were careless and in too much of a hurry. The biggest issue I have is the disappearance of the tool kit. Sadly, they broke the rule of trust.I have reported my complaint about Job #******, March 18, 2025, to their customer service. Their response left me betrayed and victimized.Review fromShanti S

I had a terrible experience with PoC moving. I hired them to unload a U-Haul truck and was very transparent about my moving load and the building setup. Two guys came and they were rude off the bat, insisting that we illegally double park on a one-way street so that the move is more convenient for them. One of the workers was extremely aggressive and confronted one of my friends asking if they had a problem with him- this friend was explaining to friend #2 about the parking situation. Because of this they said we were disrespectful and refuse to continue working. While all of this is going on, the company called me to let me know that I will be charged an extra $100+ because they need extra time- theyve been here for at least 30 mins and havent brought in a single item so I was confused as to why I was being charged for the time lapsed if they didnt actually move my stuff into the building. With no prompt or explanation, they began to haphazardly reloading (basically tossing) all my stuff back into the U-Haul truck, while we were confused, and waiting on them inside the building. I walked out to seeing them drive away and left the truck wide OPEN (picture) with NO explanation or apology. After going back and forth with the company on the phone, a second moving team arrived and did the job in probably 1hr+, these guys were phenomenal. And if you remember, we paid for 2hrs and the first set of movers wanted to charge for 3hrs for the same job). Anyways, I have received no follow up or compensation for the inconvenience, my damaged furnitures or the time wasted. I do not recommend this companyPiece of Cake Moving

Part of the PROBLEM! Horrible customer service, they have more hidden fees than a Vegas hotel room, they make it impossible to view all fees in one tangible space for a reason, and even worse - with how many left behind and unpaid for storage units they have, not one goes into donation, auction or any recycled program - its impounded and sent to the landfill! This company deserves to be exposed and shut downPiece of Cake Moving

2 starsI booked Piece of Cake with an initial quote of $2,400 and a confirmed 10 a.m. start time. Despite confirming this multiple times, the first crew began harassing me and my partner with texts and calls from 8 a.m. onward. I reiterated multiple times that we could not start until 10 a.m. due to personal needs and my buildings policies. They ignored this, went behind my back to contact my buildings super, and falsely claimed they could start at 9 a.m. After all that, they never showed up.A replacement crew was not sent until 1 p.m., and the move finally began around 1:30 p.m. Midway through, I was blindsided by a $1,300 additional invoice. Upon review, I found that several items were already included in my original quote, but I was still forced to pay $1,200 to continue the move. At the end, I was hit with another invoice of nearly $400, again under threat that the move would stop unless paid. The total cost ended up exceeding $4,000far from my original $2,400 quote. Items were damaged, walls in my brand-new home were scratched, and some belongings were left behind because they claimed the truck was full. On top of it all, the movers requested a 15-20% tip. While the second crew helped complete the move, this experience was stressful, exploitative, and overpriced. ***** this company.Review fromAdriana S

1 starNever have used a company where they ask for tip upfront - on top, basically tell me what I should be paying them. I hired them after many people I knew used them, the moment they stepped foot into my house ***** told me I should tip them more than $200 because Im high up yet I selected the floor when moving. He went into how much normal people pay but because Im higher I should be tipping him way more than that and actually gave me a quote that fit HIS needs. He was ******* and ******* to get my stuff out. Almost dropped my entry table and was cursing in the hallway. I mentioned I didnt add the couch on but spoke with the company who said I can edit the invoice when they come and he said no, let me do it for my price. Youll pay cheaper and tried to charge me $100 extra for just moving it downstairs. After this and the chat about his tip, he said ok so do we have a deal?? His drill then died, how does it die when you know you have to remove a bed ?? He then asked to use mine and told me to bring it over to the new apartment so he can use it. After they had almost everything out. HE ASKED ME TO HOLD MY OWN BED UP so he can wrap it. His words were Im sorry I just trying to rush and finish this WHAT? I am paying you to do this. Why are you even bothering me to help you????I have never used movers like this company before. EVER. I am so uphappy with how much force and demand was put into this.Review fromDu S

5 starsWe moved in February 2024 and had a great moving experience with Piece of Cake. They showed up promptly, packed things extremely quickly/efficiently, and dealt with all of the hassle of moving out of our previous apartment building, which had MANY rules about moving in/out. In our new location, my wife and I were shocked with how quickly they were able to unload everything and get it into our space, despite some initial confusion about the address (my building is on a corner and alternately referred to as being on one or the other street). They were flexible with last minute additions (charging me for some, but only when there were significant additional space demands in the truck, like bicycles I'd forgotten about). I've seen a significant variation in reviews and was initially nervous, but found the overall experience to be exceptional - particularly with the on-the-ground moving team.Review fromDeirdre O

5 starsBest moving experience I have had. The movers were thorough, did a great job packing, and the treated my possessions with care. They packed, loaded a truck in *************, drove to ************* and unloaded in the same day. All items arrived (nothing missing which happens with so many moving companies) in good condition. I would highly recommend them. The price they quoted was the price I was charged. Excellent!!!
