If I could give zero stars, I would. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT hire this company. It's a scam. The sales person is super nice initially and sends you pics of what their trucks look like. NOT! If I could upload pics here you would see what they said their trucks looked like and what truck actually came. The nightmare was only beginning. They came to move me after quoting a very reasonable price and it ended up being DOUBLE what they quoted me. There were additional fees for wrapping mattresses even though they said this was included. AND you had to pay for the covers. There is an additional fee, per foot, if the elevator is more than 75 feet from your front door. There's a fee if they have to use the stairs. They won't schedule a delivery date or time even though in my case they had my stuff for a month in storage. You are literally at their **** and call and mercy. They said they would finally show up between 4 and 6pm to deliver and then called at 6 to say it was closer to 9pm so they were coming in the morning instead. Then they were late and complained of traffic. Too bad!!! I drove in bad traffic as well to get there but somehow i was on time. Original quote was $2800 for a 2 bedroom apt. Final cost was over $6000!!! It's a scam and they know they have you once they get to your house to move you. You don't have a choice but to pay them. They are absolutely the worst!!! Please listen to all the bad reviews below and hire someone else!First National Van Lines, Inc.

***********************, Thank you for bringing the details of your complaint to our attention. We own a large fleet of trucks. We have different sizes of trucks. We cannot guarantee that the truck in the ad photo, will be the truck that we dispatch to your specific service. Ma'am, you did not provide a full list of inventory to the estimator, when the shipping cost were tallied. There was additional inventory on-site, that you added to your quote. Please review the database record below, that reflects you spoke with ******, the day of your pickup. Additional inventory, and the additional shipping costs were discussed, and you accepted the new estimate. 305221603/30/2024 02:34:58 pmCHELLYX3052216 ***********************: Called customer to discuss her additional inventory packing and new price. Went over everything, customer understands and agrees. Move underway 198.38.49.166 The accessorial charges that you incurred during delivery are forecasted in our contracts. They are clearly listed in 18-point font. No mover guarantees arrival times, due to unforeseeable traffic situations. We apologize for the delay in arrival. No portion of our service is a scam. We operate just like any other shipping company. You are charged according to how much you ship. You shipped more inventory, so your shipping charges, of course, increased. Thank you for your business and have a nice day.Review fromEdna N

I am a single female and when I pick a moving company I want to feel safe and assured that things will go smoothly which was the promise I was given. I specifically noted that I lived on the 3rd floor and gave a rundown of my items to be moved. I was moving in on 3/15 and was given assurances that if my items were picked up on 3/8 that would not be a problem. They stated that they do give a window but very rarely does it take a long time. The movers came on 3/8 and I was immediately told that I would have to pay more because I was on the 3rd floor. Not only that, I had additional items which were 2 suitcases, a large and small ottoman, a broom and swiffer duster, 2 trash cans and 3 trash cans. Keep in mind I had removed one server, one large book shelf, a table with 4 chairs and a tread mill. I attempted to reach the original person that sent me the quote and their phone was on silent. They could not be reached. All of a sudden there was a different person. I ended up paying an extra 1500. Come, 3/14, I called to find out where the movers were and I was told that they had just picked up my items from the warehouse and would not be coming until the following Tuesday. Tuesday came and went and I was told definitely by the weekend. The weekend came and went and finally, I was told Monday between 8A and 1P. I took the day off from my new job and they showed up around 8:30PM. They finished around 12 and oh, they could not reassemble my office desk because it was missing the nuts and bolts. They charged me an extra $500 because the distance to my apartment from the truck was long. My desk could not be reassembled because there were no nuts and bolts attached. I was missing a box, my Roku was missing and my entertainment center damaged. My broom broken. I contacted ***************** and never received the Insurance form to complete. The person that was going to try and locate my missing box, I have yet to hear back from 2 weeks later. I would never recommend this company.First National Van Lines, Inc.

Everyone has a bad moving story, I guess First National Van Lines will be my first ****** learned. They are a moving broker. These are middle men sales folks, and they have likely never met, nor ever heard of whoever will be packing and moving your personal items. The image they portray on their website and on the phone is not the ***************. They show a nice truck that is branded, with burly men clean cut men in branded polos. The reality is that two guys will show up with very little credentials, talking about a company that is not First National who they actually work for, and they will show up in a rented Uhaul.During the sales process, they have it down to a masterful bait and switch that, while ultimately probably legal, is the nastiest form of business. A few notable examples:After I gave them the details of the move, I had a FaceTime with their "inventory specialist" to which I took on a detailed tour of my 2 bed 2 bath place. She noted down seemingly everything, it took a while but I was glad to see that she was taking it seriously. We noted I believe around 50 boxes. She asked what size they were, I said "I'm not sure, should I measure them?" to which she said "no worries they look medium to me" the first of my many mistakes was taking her at her word. She also said I would receive a call to go over my items again, a quality assurance person of sorts, this call never came. When the movers came, they said that not only were they not medium boxes, they were mostly extra large, and the price had NEARLY DOUBLED.I was told that my move would take "3-7 days" in the sales process, and that it would be delivered in a 40 foot container. I later received an email saying it might be 14 days, and that there would be an 18 ******* delivering my items, and since it doesn't fit I would now be paying shuttle costs.Don't fall for the "we are just like the big 3" malarkey. I grew up in a military family using ************, never such issues. I paid the price.First National Van Lines, Inc.

*******************, Thank you for filing your complaint. It is always our goal to ensure each of our customers has a pleasant experience. The initial portion of your complaint is disputing the fact that First National is a carrier, and they that employ agent authority. Agent ********** is not unique in modern times. Allied, Mayflower, and United, all utilize their agents in some cases to complete services. We are no different. This can be proven by visiting the unbiased website, move.org. The site states that First National is both a carrier, and that they employ agent authority. Our agent, who serviced your move was among our very best. The virtual estimation captured a total of 96-items of inventory. You were verbally urged to confirm the accuracy of the list of goods. Your contract also warns that you are responsible for confirming the accuracy of your list, as well. You shipped 43 additional items. You stated that, " I would receive a call to go over my items again, a quality assurance person of sorts, this call never came." That call took place, according to database records, on 01/28/2024. You signed the bill of lading, prior to the call being concluded. The mileage between your zip codes is 952-miles. On average, deliveries take approximately 7-days per 1,000-miles. This is an estimated range. 3-14-business-days is the contractual delivery window, according to the information the **************************** requires the company to provide clients. You were also warned of the possibility of the need for a shuttle-truck, to complete the delivery. All of this information was provided during the recorded verification call. I reviewed the call to ensure all of the pertinent information was correctly relayed, and it surely was. Please accept our apologies, if the information we provided was not clearly understood. We always do our best to explain our processes in detail to our good customers. Thank you and have a very nice day.Review fromAleisha B

1. they are a broker they will not be moving your things, they were great communicating and responding before they got my money and locked me into the contract then i never heard from them again, several unanswered calls & emails, no updates and i had to call every day to try to track down my things, figure out when they got on a truck and where they were 2. they will not tell you that your things wont be put on a truck until they feel like it or until the truck fills up, they picked my things up on 12/7 and the only reason they got on a truck A WEEK LATER was ** i kept calling and harassing them 3. once they have your money dont expect any help from them, they told me they would call me back, keep me updated and neither happened. NEVER AGAIN.First National Van Lines, Inc.

****************, Thank you for filing your review. First National, just like Allied, Mayflower, and United, utilize their local agents to aid in the servicing of their jobs. This means that just like the big three, First National is a carrier with coordinator authority. Ma'am, your were picked up on 12/7, going over 2800-miles. The delivery timeframe on mileage of that number is up to 21-business-days. The delivery timeframe was quoted to you, according to database records, on two separate occasions. The first was during the verification call, and the other was a customer service call. Also, according to database records, you were in contact with customer service on several different occasions during the transit of your goods. Ma'am, although it pleases us that you notified us that you were not happy with the processes of your move, we feel this review is unjust, and we cannot understand why you have filed it. We do ask that you accept our apologies for the issues you feel did go wrong with your move. It never pleases us to hear that any client was displeased with the services we provide. I hope you have a very nice day.Review fromBarbara H

If I could give minus stars I would. They are just a broker and I learned the hard way that when you give them your inventory, they will bid low to get your business and when the 3rd party movers show ** the cost goes ** in the thousands of dollars. They will damage everything they pack and the insurance is a joke. Find another company please dont go through what we did. It was horrible, they damaged our OLED thin screen tv, scratched frames on our collection of artwork by *************************** and the frames are ruined. Not to mention our refrigerator and washing machine they look all beat up. They damaged 11 of our items and they were the items I was told they will pack with care. The packers didnt even have enough material to pack our items.First National Van Lines, Inc.

*************************, Thank you for filing your complaint. We take all complaints very seriously. We wish that you had called us to report these issues. We were not aware of any of this till we noticed your review. We would like to address that we perform our moves with our own trucks, or sometimes utilize our local agents. Those agents are bound to us by carrier agreement contracts. Even Allied, Mayflower, and United utilize local agents to perform a percentage of their moves. It's the way the industry works in modern times. Please contact **********, at the email address we will attach below. He will work on a suitable resolution to the matters you have reported. Thank you and have a blessed day. **************************************Review fromAndrea L

Let me begin, by telling everyone just how hard moving state to state is. It's one of the scariest things I have ever done as an adult. Leaving everything, and everyone I knew back in *************, to move to *******, where I knew no one was difficult. I moved for my job. I called moving companies and settled upon First National. They did a very nice job for me. My initial contact, ****, stayed in contact with me throughout the move. I am extremely pleased with the services provided, and the professionalism of all was very much appreciated. This is a good moving company.First National Van Lines, Inc.

I booked my move with FNVL a month in advance and had a great experience and prompt communication in the beginning. I was told the week of move in I would receive a call the night before the move with my contact that would be there to support from beginning to end. The night before, I did not receive any communication and called the employee I booked with 4 times before I got a text to assure me I would receive a call and that they were coming the following day - I never got a call. I was nervous because of this the morning of and called several times (5 total) with no contact, The pickup was scheduled for 10 am and I called at 8, 9, 10, 12 and 2. Finally someone got back in touch with me to tell me the truck broke down and that she would have more information soon. I stressed that my apartment was packed and my lease ended the following day and a cleaning *** was coming at 4. Around 4 or 5 they said the truck would not be coming and that my move had been POSTPONED UNTIL 10 DAYS LATER. This caused me to scramble and incur and extra $2K in moving costs that I did not have. I am a young person and having to drop everything and find a mover last minute and absorbing additional financial damages on top of the stress of FNVL telling me that they are postponing my move to 10 days out was a true NIGHTMARE. When I asked how they could in good conscience do this to someone they had sent a Binding Agreement to, they threw the clause in the agreement "pick up and drop off dates are not guaranteed" this was a huge slap in the face and added insult to injury. In essence, if you are operating on a timeline and cost is a factor in your move and would like to enter into an agreement with a moving company you can depend on DO NOT USE FNVL.First National Van Lines, Inc.

Be very careful with First National Van Lines, they are not a moving company there are brokers. I first question I asked my rep *************************** was is your company the only company I will deal with because if not I will find another company? He answered me, yes, and that he will be my rep thru out our entire move. Not true. So that is how my relationship started with this company. My move happened on a Saturday when a different company showed up to pack our things, so i was not happy and called customer service, ****** and his supervisor only to find out that they are closed on the weekend so I was stuck with this moving company and out of luck, my house was closing on Monday and I had to except the new total. I feel that I was lied to and deceived by this company, after several calls and emails I was told that I was not lied to or deceived. The answer I received from the First National Van Lines was "deceived my a--!"; and then hung up on when I was in the middle of a sentence. Terrible experience to go thru and it just seems they just don't care. I can go on and on about this company. I gave them one star because zero is not available.First National Van Lines, Inc.

worst experience of my life. over $2000 and my stuff is more than 10 days late.they give you zero transparency about where the truck is, i'm not even confident they have all of my boxes and haven't lost any yet. the broker who signed the contract with me has not acknowledged my existence since the movers picked up my stuff, the whole company is a sham.i wish i had just burned all my old furniture and bought new stuff at ikea, it would have been cheaper and much faster than waiting for these clowns to deliver my stuff, if they ever get around to doing that anyway.and here's hoping they don't violate me with hidden fees at the end like everyone else.i would rather die in a nuclear war than do business with this company againFirst National Van Lines, Inc.
