  The New York Sun was happy to charge my account for a subscription, yet I cannot access the publication. Many attempts have been made to contact them, using phone numbers and email addresses they provide, with no success. My account appears as a free "Reader" one, not paid.

  They originally offered a one year subscription at a discount for $40 and charged my card accordingly. The following year they attempted to renew it at their regular rate of $120 but since I had previously canceled that credit card because I had lost my wallet, it did not go through, which is when they notified me by email, and when I elected not to renew even though they eventually tried to offer another discount. However, they subsequently managed to charge my replacement credit card without notifying me. I in turn sent them emails repeatedly, at least five times, and called them multiple times without ever getting a response. They do not answer phone calls and do not respond to messages or emails. Although I found their news and editorial content reasonably balanced, their support staff proved to be virtually nonexistent. They only contact you when they need to and ignore you when you need assistance, which leads me to the conclusion that this is likely a scam. This assessment appears to be consistent with many other complaints listed here. My question is why and how is it that they continue to get away with this and not get penalized. Most other companies make it much easier to cancel anytime and offer refunds. This company makes it impossible to do that. In my humble opinion I think BBB should broadcast this type of behavior so that potential subscribers are aware of this in advance.Its really shameful that this news outlet conducts business this way.Looking ahead if the ****** tries to renew my subscription again I would be compelled to call my bank and deny the charge as a fraudulent charge, which means that I would also need to cancel and replace that card again. Although this is a bit of an Inconvenience, I think it would be necessary under these conditions.

  The ****** offered a one year subscription at a discount for $40 ($80 discount). My card was charged $40 but was also separately charged $ $120.00! This is evidently a scam that is used routinely, based on other complaints I have seen on line. I have left messages on the NY Sun phone number with no call back. It is basically impossible to speak to a live person. You can reportedly schedule a return call, currently during the week of March 24th. I seek the refund of both payments and do not want to subscribe to the con job.

  I have the same spam experience as all others. I never signed up for them and get 3-4 e-mails a day. I use my ****** account to report the spam yet they still keep coming.

  After never subscribing, I constantly get spam emails. Although I report the spam over and over and unsubscribe over and over, I still get the spam. On top of it, they are not a reputable news source.

  How do they get away with it? I never wanted a digital subscription, Its system does not allow you to cancel, plus I responded via the "contact us" link and despite all this, I still get MULTIPLE emails daily with their unwanted, narrow, slimy headlines. I worry that less-discerning citizens will get sucked into the dark hole of fascism, fear and hate . HELP.
