Willoughbys is the equivalent of a sleazy used car salesman. The advertising was clearly deceptive. Their excuse of the deceptive advertising is not acceptable (*********** line about the camera being "imported"). Also I feel I was bullied and my rights were violated when they refused to cancel the order. I require a partial refund for the deceptive advertising.

I can happily prove that many, many customers don't in fact agree with their business practices. It shows on every review and dispute platform available. If they'd like to refund the extra money they charged me for the exact camera I had ordered and paid for at the agreed upon price, I would appreciate it. Until then, I'm not looking to rest my case until others are aware and we don't have to all swap scam stories like a "me too" movement for an unethical company.

When I requested a refund, I was told that would not happen unless I sent a 20% restocking fee. That was $219. This was on a product I was scammed into purchasing that was more expensive than the one I actually ordered. I was told the one I originally ordered might get stuck on my camera. When the item arrived, it was not a true Tamron camera. Yet a knock off. No I am not happy. I am actually disgusted that the attorney general has not shut down this company. There are dozens of similar complaints out there. They scam people on a weekly basis. When I sent the restocking fee, I let them know I was doing it reluctantly because that was the only way to get a refund. So I am still out $219.

They would NOT process the FULL refund until I sent and they cashed a check for 20% of the purchase price. So, after they took and cashed my $219.00 check, they gave me a full refund. I am still out $219.00. I was convinced to pay more for an item I did not order by them telling me the item I did order wouldn't work. There are dozens of these complaints. They are not going to make it right and are scammers that are allowed to continue doing business.

My mother-in-law used her credit card to purchase a lens from Willoughby's camera store online. This is a Canon 50mm 2.5/f that typically costs between $100-200 dollars. She purchased it from their online store and then was later called and told that this product was an imported brand and that if she wanted one that works properly she would have to pay $520. She went ahead and payed the extra money. This was a lie, there is no such thing as an imported model that has any difference in function. By the time I received this lens for my birthday, it was past their 14 day return policy. I am now trying to exchange it with ************ but I quickly realized they are trying to scam me now for more more. Ideally, I would like to be able to return the lens that they scammed my mother-in-law into paying way to much for. However, I feel trapped because they will not except a return. I am tempted to do an exchange for another piece of equipment but not only are their products already way overpriced, I am afraid to receive something faulty or not at all (as most of the reviews of this company profess). Please do not reach out to ************ until talking with me first because I do not want them to drop me altogether and I loose the money.Business Response

Similar complaint to many other disputes filed on here. I ordered the FUJIFILM XF 27mm f/2.8 R WR Lens. I received a confirmation email with the correct pricing, and then was called the next day by someone who informed me the lens I ordered is the Import build and would not work for my Fuji X-E4 camera, so the price for the "US model" lens would be $499.99. I said I wanted to cancel my order and would order from another retailer instead. They then told me that this is the price for the lens is controlled by Fuji and standard everywhere else, and as I was not by my computer and walking, I was a bit flustered and acquiesced. I then received an email (NOT itemized) saying I had authorized a charge for $529.84.However, the "import build" lens vs. US lens is not a real thing, and there is NO such lens listed on their website for $499. I have also confirmed that this lens is $399.99 at all other camera stores, including Adorama, ***, **** Photo. When I received my items, there was a 7-year warranty card in the box which I had not ordered. I then looked at the price of the 7-year warranty on their website, which I again, I did NOT order, and it is $99.99, which is what appears to have been added to my initial charge (making the total $529.84). This made me very suspicious that they had fraudulently charged me for a warranty I did not order and came up with the bogus story about the US and import lens in order to fraudulently charge **** called immediately to attempt to resolve the issue directly with the merchant. After giving them my order number and stating my concern that I had been fraudulently overcharged, the person I was on a line with sent me to voicemail. I then contacted them again and stated I would need to file a dispute with my credit card company and a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. At this point, they called me back and said they would refund my card immediately. They have not done so.Business Response
