The institution has failed to report conferment of my degree to the ******************.The institution has failed to refund Federal funds disbursed to my account in the amount of ******. RELAY withheld the funds, and cleared my balance to zero after requesting a refund. Federal regulations and RELAY's policies state that any federal funds disbursed to a student's account in excess of allowable charges must be delivered to the student. The institution failed to honor/acknowledge my petition to apply my ***** Relay Americorps funds for reimbursement of educational materials cost. I've attempted to contact the institution via phone on multiple occasions starting on/about January 3, 2024. There are no operating phone lines. I communicated my concerns multiple times via email starting on January 19,-February 16 2024. I contacted RELAY Student Support, RELAY Student Affairs, RELAY ***************** **** President ***************************** , Financial Aid Director *********************, and CEO *************************. I didn't receive a single response from the organization or its representatives.

As a black/brown student in a majority poor community, an opportunity has been taken away from me. I have used my hard own money to pay my tuition and my graduation is being taken away based on a non-pandemic reason. My professor stated, "We will not be having an in-person commencement. The reason is, we have a lot of out-of-state students that cannot attend, so the decision was made in the best interest of everyone" NO email, NO communication. I do not agree with the way Relay has handled this overall situation, as far as communication and consideration towards their students. Last year, Relay had an in-person commencement in the Javits ***** center in August. Due to this, I have family who has already bought tickets. I have plans already made, solely because if Relay had one last year, who would think this year would be different? The ************** took away my bachelor's graduation and now I will have no master's commencement because of out-of-state students. I WANT TO TALK TO SOMEONE IN HIGHER *** ASAP.

I recently withdrew from a program at Relay GSE. On a phone call with Relay GSE, I was informed that I would only be responsible for $1875 (a 50% deduction after scholarship), since I withdrew before a certain deadline. Relay GSE is now billing me for $4800, with a deadline of one month before this bill goes to collections. In spite of their one-day response policy, Relay has, for several weeks, refused to respond to my repeated email inquiries regarding these additional charges. Eventually, I was told to file a formal grievance policy, but did not hear back after one business day. There are now ten days remaining before Relay requires me to take on this unexpected debt. What I am hoping for is a resolution where Relay adjusts my billing as per our prior conversation over the phone.

Prior to the filing of this complaint by *********************, Relay GSE put a hold on his account so it would not go to collections until this matter is resolved through a thorough internal investigation. In addition, our Director of Student Affairs has offered to meet with **** to discuss the matter in detail, that meeting is pending confirmation.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

    Hi BBB,

My case with Relay GSE was never resolved. I received correspondence from Relay GSE that they would set up a time to call and discuss the case with me. They informed me that they would put the collections account on hold until the situation was resolved. However, when I replied with times that I could meet, they did not respond. I followed up and again they did not respond. I assumed at this point that they were dropping the charges to my account, because I never heard from them otherwise. After complete silence on their end, I received an email a few days ago that my account was indeed sent to collections, in violation of their word.

I would like to reopen a complaint against them, edited to include this portion of my grievance.
