    Hi, per the cancellation instructions for this company, I've sent three (3) separate emails to cancel my subscription. No emails have been returned and I'm continuing to receive, and be charged monthly, for this subscription.

    Having searched our email database, we have found no record of a cancellation request.

    However, we have cancelled and refunded this subscription today, no further charges will take place.

    Newsweek does not honor timely cancellations of trials. I subscribed to Newsweek for a one-month trial of the Digital+Monthly on July 11. The only way to cancel is by email so I sent a request for cancellation email one day before my next billing cycle as I do not want to be charged for next month. I did not receive any response so I sent a second email. 5 days later, Newsweek emailed me stating, we also require at least 7 days notice prior to renewal in order to cancel before payment is taken. We have cancelled your automatic renewal for you however, no further charges will take place. They went ahead and charged me $4.99 for the next month's cycle. When I signed up for the trial, there was nothing written to inform me about the notice of at least 7 days. Their websites trial sign-up page says Cancel at anytime and their terms of service says You can cancel your Newsweek subscription at any time by e-mailing us at support [at] ************. They blamed me for not cancelling way ahead while they feel its okay for them to slack off on email response time and make up any rules along the way as they please at the customer's expense.

    Our terms of sale, which must checked to confirm have been read and agreed to, clearly state that we require at least 7 days notice prior to renewal to cancel an automatic renewal.

    We did not receive the original cancellation request but this too would have been too late in the cycle.

    This was explained in our reply and the subscription remains accessible until the current period ends.

    No further charges will take place and we do recommend all customers read our terms of sale before signing up to any subscription service.
