We purchased a sightseeing pass from the company The Sightseeing Pass on 30th January 2025. We tried to use it on the 20th June 2025 but was told that the company had suspended all operations and the pass would no longer be accepted anywhere. Dear Sir/Madam,On **** 15, 2025, I purchased five New York City Tourist Passes through the official website, The Sightseeing Pass, which included access to several attractions. The pass was marketed as fully operational, and no service interruptions were reported at the time of purchase. The payment method used was a debit card. However, today, **** 18, 2025, when I attempted to book attractions, I noticed that the Tourist Pass is no longer operational, and the company reports on its website and via phone that it has suspended services.I attempted to contact The Sightseeing Pass by email and phone without success. I received no notification or refund, and the pass was rendered unusable. When I purchased the service, I took advantage of the refund insurance offered.I respectfully request a full refund of the amount paid, given that the promised services were never provided.Requested Solution:I request a full refund of USD ******** for the non-functional passes purchased. I also request formal clarification from the company regarding the status of operations and public communication to affected users.I attach a copy of the purchased tickets. Please request acknowledgment of receipt of this notice and information on the next steps.Thank you very much. On March 9, 2025 I purchased (2) sight seeing passes for ********. I paid $420.24 for the both. I visited ******** between June 5-9 2025 and tried to use my passes at numerous attractions. I was told at every attraction that the passes are no longer accepted. So I paid full price for all the attractions visited. I called them twice on 6/10/25 and 6/18/25 and both times was assured I was getting a refund but haven't seen anything yet.Customer Answer

On January 5, 2025, I purchased two Adult Flex Passes (including 5 attractions each) from Sightseeing Pass, for a total of $304. The passes were valid for 60 days. Each pass was used for 3 attractions, leaving 2 attractions unused on each pass.Within the 60-day validity period, I attempted to reserve tickets for the remaining 2 attractions through their official website, but their system consistently encountered errors that prevented me from using the Flex Pass. I contacted their customer service on March 1, 2025 (still within the 60-day period), to report the issue. However, they failed to resolve the problem in a timely manner. They kept delaying the response, and eventually claimed that they could no longer help because the 60-day validity period had expired. This is unfair and unacceptable, as the issue was caused by their technical problems, and I contacted them within the valid period. Their ongoing delays and refusal to take responsibility led to the loss of value I paid for.I am seeking a fair resolution, such as a refund for the unused portion of the passes or reinstatement of the unused attractions.Business Response

Dear BBB,
Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the complaint filed by *** ****** ** regarding order #***********
Our records confirm that *** ** activated her Flex Pass on January 5, 2025, thereby beginning the 60-day validity period during which all attractions needed to be used.
We show that her only recorded contact with our team was on March 15, 2025, at 12:04 PM, stating she was unable to make reservations. Unfortunately, this was outside of the 60-day window, and by that time, the pass had expired and could no longer be used.
The images labeled contact-1, contact-2, and contact-3 appear to be automated no-reply emails containing verification codes used when creating reservations. These emails do not indicate a customer service inquiry. The screenshot labeled remaining confirms that the verification process was attempted, but we have no record of earlier direct communication from the customer before March 15.
In addition, our refund policy clearly states that:
Used passes are non-refundable, and
Partial refunds for unused attractions are not permitted.
This policy is publicly available at the following link:
**************************************************************************
While we understand the customers frustration, we can only honor requests that fall within our published terms. In this case, due to the expiration of the pass and lack of prior contact within the valid period, we regret that a refund or reinstatement is not possible.
Please let us know if you require any additional documentation.
Best regards,
******

The Sightseeing Pass ** 6/30/2023 10 attraction passes # **************** # ****************=$518 plus refund cancellation ins $20.72=$538.72. Used 2 big bus 1 ********************* I arranged a surprise visit of family from ** hubby 60th birthday in ** them Fri 30th to Tue 4th July, us till Sun 2nd in eve. They bought unlimited 3-day passes, have to be used consecutively. ***** had hip replaced June 12th, I wanted him to have the option to see as many of the same attractions as them that he could manage (having the 2nd hip replaced end early Sept followed by both knees) so I checked their refund policy & felt we'd be better buying the flex attraction passes as website stated they are valid 12 months & refundable for any unused passes if you purchase their insurance. With this reassurance I decided on buying both of us the ************************************************************************************************************************ another visit to ** to use them within *********************************************************** another trip around his surgeries/recoveries. He didn't manage any Fri 30th & Sat 1st only managed the big bus with us then had to go to the hotel to rest while the rest of us went to *********************, we both left early Sun due to amount pain he was in. I emailed c/s who replied "refund is only applied if the full 10 attraction passes were not used and its only valid to be used for up to 60 days after first attraction activates". I replied asking if there was any way they'd work with us on a partial refund for the unused 8 & 9 attractions around $334, used ones total $204 if bought direct from vendors, as it was not made clear that this was their policy & had I known this at the time of purchase, with his physical limitations & that fact there is no way can we use remaining in 60 (now 43} days left due to further surgeries I would only have purchased a 2 or 3 attraction pass for us both not the ten but just got same reply.Customer Answer

On June 5, 2023 I purchased 2 passes for the ********* Sightseeing Pass from sightseeingpass.com for $278. I called and emailed prior to purchasing and explained that I was purchasing it to use the Hop on, Hop off Bus as I would need transportation to the different attractions listed. The company confirmed verbally and through writing that the Hop on , Hop off bus attraction WAS included and that it would be added to my ticket after purchase. Their brochure and website also advertised the Hop On, Hop Off bus tour feature. I was sent a pdf map with all the included stops and information. After purchasing and using the pass I went to to the bus company location to use the bus tour and was told it was not Hop off, Hop off and only a 1 hour tour through the city. When I called and requested a refund through the Sightseeing Pass company I was told I could not get a refund because I used the pass for an attraction already. I did use one attraction (valued at $25.99 per person) but then was not able to get to the others and was left stranded because I did not have the Hop on, Hop off bus tour available to me. I specifically purchased this pass to be able to use the Hop on, Hop off bus as transportation from attraction to attraction and was not able to use it as promised to get around the city. I did not receive what was advertised to me and would like a refund for the amount of $278.Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:I did not receive the hop on, hop off bus tour that was advertised to me through brochures, email, and over the phone. I did not realize this until I used 1 attraction and was not able to get to the next attraction due to not having the hop on, hop off bus transportation. The company falsely advertised this to me and promised it would be included in my purchase and it was not. I am requesting a refund because I did not receive the pass with the hop on, hop off bus tour that was advertised to me.

I purchased this product under false advertising. They showed the attractions included the ********************. After my purchase that attraction disappeared. I started to research reviews on the products and it appears that many people are having issues using their pass to get into attractions. A lot of attractions do not accept the passes anymore. I would like a full refund for my unused passes for a total of $340.20 USD. There customer service is unreadable.Business Response

Dear *********,
We apologize for any confusion regarding the attractions included in the sightseeing pass. We understand that you are disappointed that the ******************** was not included in the pass after you made your purchase. We understand your frustration with the changes to the included attractions and appreciate your feedback. However, based on our terms and conditions and refund policy, we are unable to issue a refund for your purchase.
We would like to remind you that our terms and conditions clearly state that attractions are subject to change without notice and that we do not guarantee the availability of any specific attraction. While we make every effort to keep our website and marketing materials up-to-date, we cannot always predict changes in the availability of attractions.
Furthermore, as per our refund policy, all passes purchased without insurance are non-refundable. We understand that you did not purchase insurance with your pass, and as such we are unable to provide a refund for your purchase.
We appreciate your feedback regarding your experience with our customer service team. We take all customer feedback seriously and will use it to improve our service in the future.
Thank you for your understanding.Warm regards,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:I requested a refund which the company refused. They mislead me into purchasing these passes with false advertisements. What is advertised on the website should be honored or have a big disclaimer on the front page that attractions may change. This is a poorly ran company that does not care about the customer but claiming false informatoin and scamming money from individuals.
In order for the BBB to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

We have returned from ******** today and whilst there we used 4 adult Flex passes from Sightseeing Pass. On our penultimate day we got up very early and made our way to the ***********. The pass instructions stated that we had to visit the ticket window to exchange the passes for the next available timed tickets. We queued for some time and as we were nearing the windows we noticed signs stating that the sightseeing pass was not valid for the attraction. When we reached the window, we were advised that due to a change that sightseeing pass had made on their system, the museum could not validate the passes so they could not be used. The museum did offer a discount for sightseeing pass holders but it still cost us $93 to enter. This was very disappointing as the museum was one of the top attractions in ******** and we had chosen the sightseeing pass as it included all the top attractions we wanted to see including the museum. I contacted Sightseeing pass on the same day to complain about the situation and request reimbursement of the entry fee but I was advised that although they were sorry, they do not offer partial refunds. I replied back to further my complaint as was very disappointed that the issue was solely down to their error and they did not attempt to inform their customers of the situation. In fact, at the time of writing this, 3 days after the issue, they are still advertising that entry is available with the flex passes. They have advised that they will not offer any refund as we were able to use the pass on plenty of other attractions. I find this unacceptable as the *********** was one of the main places we wanted to visit and to do this meant paying more out to achieve this. Being able to visit other attractions that we were not as interested in does not make up for the extra money we spent. At the very least, they should have advised all customers of the issue when in arose but there is nothing on the site and they sent no emails to warn anyone.Business Response

Good afternoon,
Unfortunately, due to technical issues, the Sightseeing Pass no longer offers 9/11 as an included attraction. We highly advise all clients to choose alternative attractions to visit.
However, we will refund the amount client paid for additional 9/11 tickets if we have a copy of the tickets purchased.

On November 22, 2022, my family paid $910 for two adult & two child five-day Sightseeing Passes for ***********.Because we have children, one of the alluring offerings on the Sightseeing Pass marketing of their products was the ability to visit the ********************************.Our first destination was the Aquarium, which we visited on November 25 but not before paying full admission for two adults and two children because, as the aquarium employee told us, the ******************************** does not work with that company and have not for some time. My wife then took some time to attempt to contact the Sightseeing Pass people to get some resolution on the matter and was told that a response might take as long as 48 hours. Because we did not wish to activate the passes until we knew what actions the company would take to resolve the matter, we paid our own way to the aquarium and to everything else we visited during our trip. By the time the Sightseeing Pass people responded, we were too far into our trip to get five days of sightseeing done, but it didnt matter because they didnt really give any sort of assistance. As of today, December 3, the ******************************** continues to be featured prominently in their marketing materials to help sell their product, despite the fact they must know that their product does not gain customers admission to the venue. This is plainly fraud. Our order reference number is *********. Due to a lack of responsiveness by the company and an inability to delivery what was promoted and promised in making the sale of this product, the only reasonable resolution would be a full refund. I am certain that in another venue, we would be asking for additional restitution due to the added emotional strain of attempting to sort through this problem and for having to basically re-route our entire vacation plan.Customer Answer
