    My AMEX was charged $5,880 to access Statista data. We could not log in to the database. We tried numerous times to contact help desk, emailed support, called support - US and **************** No one ever answered our request for help to log in. We then attempted to cancel our subscription, again no reply from Statista. I even went to their USA corporate office in ********. The building security people could not reach the office either. I question whether this is a real company. I am out $5,880 and have never received any service, data, anything from Statista. A sham company.

    A typical bait and switch business model: I came across a statistic that would have been helpful, and the website advertised that I could download by creating a free account. So I did, only to be told that I need to sign up for a paid subscription in order to download the content that they just told me would be available for download with a free account. Ever since they inundate me with spam email, advertising this and that.

    I paid 468 dollars for an account because it looked like Statista had relevant data to the project I was working on at my company. However, after paying this already high amount, I was told by their customer support that paying this amount only unlocks ~5% of the content of their site (their words). Basically, any of the data that would be useful for me was gated behind another account type that would cost ****s of dollars a year. And to top it off, Statista refused to give me any refund even though I asked for one only a few days after signing up and realizing that the data that I could access didn't have much value.
