They say they are a modeling agency, called Katwalk Talent I have signed their contract to be a model and paid them through ***** a $100 yearly fee I have tried reaching out to them for help to set up an appointment to do my digitals and get started on making my comp cards. They added me to a groupchat on instagram, so far the only messages Im seeing is for bookings or collaborations for bikini and lingerie photos or brands. I am only able to message them on instagram, and they have left me on seen multiple times, and do not offer any assistance when I have asked multiple times. I later found out that if a modeling agency requires you to pay them money to join that it is actually a scam and not a legitimate company. I am seeking a refund for my $100 back because I am now upset because no one is helping me and they are leaving me on seen and that in fact a real modeling agency does not tell you to pay them money, they say the money is for the website fees but again I do not have a website or digitals or a comp card and they promised to help me set all of that up once I signed with them, and instead every time I message them they leave me on seen or offer no assistance and I find it unprofessional they are only communicating with me through Instagram DM. When they have my phone number and email address but I have not gotten any phone calls or email offering to help me with anything. I have more screenshots that I can share as well, but it only allows me to share a limited amount of photos.

Tell us why here...This correspondence serves to formally address the situation regarding ********* ***** and to provide a comprehensive account of the circumstances leading to our decision to terminate the contractual relationship.
We manage approximately 200 models and provide 24/7 support through a group chat dedicated to our models. Due to the high volume of Direct messages on social media, responses may be delayed. Our models are instructed to use the group chat for all communications related to castings, work opportunities, and portfolio updates.
Upon ********* ******* onboarding, we made several attempts to arrange a portfolio setup; however, ********* ***** has canceled these arrangements multiple times. Scheduling conflicts have prevented us from adding ********* ***** to our website. We have extended multiple opportunities for her to participate in photo sessions necessary for creating her comp card and updating her profile on our website.
Our communications with ********* ***** have occurred through various platforms, including email. Additionally, my personal phone number is provided in the contact section of our Instagram bio for further assistance.
Please be advised that our company is a legitimate entity registered as an LLC in the state of ********. Notably, on July 26, we held a swim week production featuring 12 designers, 75 models, 40 photographers, and several professional hairstylists and makeup artists at **************** Moreover, on July 14, 2024, we conducted a promotional event at the same venue, where 35 models and 12 photographers and videographers were present. During this event, we offered professional photography and digital assets for website inclusion and comp card creation to all attending models.
********* ***** was invited to both events but did not attend, missing significant opportunities to obtain professional photographs for our website and comp card development.
In accordance with our contract, the $100 fee paid by ********* ***** is non-refundable and allocated for promotional materials. The digital portfolio setup is an ancillary service that we provide at our discretion and is not guaranteed. Despite our commitment to supporting our models, this additional service was not assured in the contract.
I have provided screenshot evidence demonstrating the agency's efforts to facilitate work for ********* *****, including scheduled photo sessions. Additionally, I have submitted the signed contract and email verification confirming ********* ******* acceptance of the terms.
Our contract stipulates that we retain the right to terminate the agreement if we choose not to continue working with a model. Given the unprecedented nature of this situation, we have resolved to exercise this option. An email will be sent to ********* ***** today to notify her of the contract termination. Her unprofessional conduct has necessitated this decision.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
    Sincerely,
    ******** *******

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Good afternoon, in the screenshots that were provided from the business they were from April and May, before I signed with them, I signed with them on June 18th. So I am speaking about my correspondence with them after the contract was signed. I have tried to ask multiple times to set up at appt to come to the office, they left me on seen or never responded to that, they only responded every time I asked for a refund and they would tell me there are no refunds. They asked me to come to the ************ when I asked to come to the office. The summer club is a daytime club, with booze and etc, I do not think that is an appropriate setting to meet someone and do digitals and etc, and at those events at the summer club they posted about they were bikini shows that they did. Also the business never emailed me anything about termination of a contract, they blocked me on social media and removed me from the group chats, I have asked them before if I could get a call or email as well, still havent gotten one. I have tried to be understanding, but I have told them that I find the communication through Instagram messages unprofessional. For example they added me to a groupchat for a bikini photoshoot when again I still have not come to the office or done basic digitals.

As explicitly stated in Section 10 of the contract, the annual fee paid is nonrefundable. We have made numerous efforts to arrange work opportunities for *********; however, she has consistently demonstrated uncooperative behavior. Consequently, due to her ongoing unprofessionalism, we have terminated our professional relationship with her.
Additionally, we organized a digital workshop event at the summer club, which included a private space and professional services such as photography, makeup artistry, and hairstyling. ********* was formally invited to participate but did not attend. This instance represents one of several opportunities provided to *********, all of which she chose not to engage in.

     Hello,

I still have not received an email stating that my contract is terminated. As I did state before the summer club is a daytime club with alcohol and booze and is not an appropriate or professional setting to lots of people. I have tried to ask to set up an appointment to come to the office but they have left me on seen multiple times. I am dissatisfied.

I would like to have an email from the company stating that my contract is terminated, because there are no solutions being brought and I am clearly not getting a resolution and the unprofessionalism has reached its point. And as stated before, blocking someone on social media instead of emailing them is giving off a different message. Thank you.
