Algora Publishing lures authors and cheats them with royalties violating elementary norm of behavior - its owners *********************************** enrich themselves by taking money and refusing pay royalties. Moreover, they refuse not only to present the standard form used by publishers concerning books sold but simply idnore their letters. This publishing company (a family business) doesn't follow the existing rules. In the contracts they included the statement that all complaints should be solved in the court of ********. This is a smart trick since a trip to ******** requires time and money. As to the professional performance the quality of editing and printing (bad paper) is low. In addition, the owners changed the title of my book and some statements without my consent (being an immigrant from ******* **************** deleted sentences criticizing the ************* etc.) I sent many letters-complaints which were ignored. During last 30 days I sent 5 emails. After 3 emails their employee **************** responded stating that for last 8 years s the book has sold a grand total of 4 soft covers and 7 eBooks. Then it is not clear why its current price $27 is significantly higher than several years ago: usually, if sales are weak, price is decreased. He lied that I had received royaltiy statements. For a part of the first year I had received $105 and after that there was nothing . My letters were ignored. The publisher violated our contract agreement (didn't informed about sales/royalties; changed the book title and some statements so that I didn't want such book to have my name and asked the publisher to return my copyright so that I could find another publisher). It looks like after my letters-complaints Algora deleted my name from their website (see the attached file). It means it doesn't promote my book. On the Internet I found other authors complaints that Algora cheats with royalties. Such publishers should be prohibited to run their businesses.Customer Answer

The owners of Algora Publishing ignore my letters. In May of 2023 they asked a low level employee to respond who wrote nonsense and lied. *********** restored my name and the book title to find on their websites. But my blog- complaint of 2012 I could not find. On the Internet I found Algora blog and place the following about the company (of course they will not post it):
Isnt it strange that a small publishing company with a bad reputation (according to **************************************, Algora is very unprofessional from start to finish.) posts blogs and looks like a Media &Internet company. Base on the Internet information it has now $7.00 Million in revenue and 47 employees (*******************************************). Even if this information is not precise, it is logical to assume that it found a sponsor who support it for certain services.
Algora ruined my book ******************* in the **. ** my opinion, this small publishing company consists of capitalism-haters (the *** *** ****** who has a degree in Philosophy and Political Economy, ******* - ***********************; *** ****** was the vice-president of a major ************ of ********************* relations for twenty years (usually KGP controlled such type of ************s), and has been throughout the ************ more than 20 times) using their ideology to change,if necessary, the material of the submitted manuscripts. For them capitalism is the reason of all misfortunes in our society, including the ******** school system. Algora decided to publish my book because it contained the comparison of the ** system of education with the ************s system. However, after reading attentively what I wrote Algora decided to change the related material. Its contract contained a paragraph, allowing the editor to do that, which I interpreted mistakenly as editing since I signed book contracts with several world known publishing companies, and none of them contained the right of the publisher to change the submitted material (editing is a standard procedure that has its limits). But Algora believes that it has the right to violate this generally accepted rule and by signing the contract I became its slave. Moreover, the company violates other rules (doesnt send the contract with the name and signature of a person responsible for the contract; cheats with royalties ignoring the existing accounting procedure, simply doesnt sent royalties violating the contract agreement, delete negative blogs from its website, ignores letters-complaints, provides misleading information on the Internet about the company, etc.). I wrote the book for a wide public, especially for parents. But Algoras editors decided that it should be less a handbook for parents and more an analysis of what stands in the way of improving the system and a part of material was deleted. However, the structure of this book didnt correspond to a scientific book, and this was one of the reasons of its failure. As an author of 8 books and editor of more than 15 books I can say that Algora lacks of experienced professionals. It has no an **************** Its owners dislike the capitalist system but use it successfully to earn money. Although nobody buys my book for many years, Algoras owners refuse to give me a letter that I can use the material of my published book in the book with a different title (they changed my initial title and the material which contradicts their views;in 2012, I asked them to do that, since I disliked that the published book has my name, and I repeated my request in 2023). I believe that the reason is in their ideology.
My negative blog on Algoras website, written after the book had been published, didnt exist long enough. It is strange that such publishing company is allowed to exist. Now it is impossible to place a blog criticizing the company. But one can use ********************************************************************* to comment the topics chosen by the Algora team, which reflect their ideology not shared by many *********. There are topics used by Russias propaganda machine. It is very strange that such company exists in our country. In order for the BBB to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.
Sincerely,
***********************************

In early 2014, I signed over my copyright for my work, JFK: Assassination Rehearsal, to Algora Publishing which published my work in August 2014. One year later, August 2015, I received a check for a little over $1000.00; For the next 2 years I received royalty check amount to a few hundred dollars total. Since 2017 I have received no royalty checks for any amount even though I lecture to small groups several times per year and always sign new copies. Neighbors in my gated community have bought my book and come to me to sign them. All since 2017.I have written Algora asking why I have not even been notified as to what is going on and have received no response.I would like a certified audit of my book sales and barring that I like like the return of my copyright so I can find another publisher.
