This is a review about their buy back program. I mailed in a total of 4 books, and my total was roughly $80 that they paid me. I haven't had any issues with them! The whole process (shipping them out, letting them process them and then mailing out the check and me receiving it) took about 4 weeks, but I got both of my checks in the mail and the process was overall convenient and easy. I haven't purchased textbooks directly from them.BooksRun

According to our records, several counterfeit copies were detected within your buyback order #*******. We do take the matter with counterfeit items very seriously as trafficking in such items is a violation of US legislation.Regrettably, the payment for the counterfeit books could not be processed as per obligations imposed by the publishers such items are subject to disposal in order to prevent further distribution. We hope that the matter with the item in question can be resolved as a refund may be requested from the seller who initially sold the counterfeit copies to you.We do care about the quality of the books we sell and impose regulations regarding the acceptance of the books. Such regulations are presented in our acceptance criteria as well as Buyback Condition Guide and state that the quote of the items that have liquid stains, excessive markings, wrinkled or torn pages and binding etc. may be adjusted or such items may not be eligible for buyback at all. Which is exactly what happened in your case, since the items were delivered exhibiting the signs of heavy wear. Our processing department carefully inspects all items received and uploads images of the damaged items confirming their condition. Your buyback order was processed in accordance with the existing ******************* which implies that books with a condition that does not correspond to the one initially stated, get their quotes adjusted.Therefore, the order was placed On Hold for 7 days so that you could either accept the quotes or decline them and have the items shipped back to your address. The notifications regarding the condition of the books received, and the opened disputes were sent to your email address. Please note that, per existing policy, BooksRun will not provide free returns for books that had their quotes adjusted. Returns are made only after the reimbursement of the return fee by the user. We understand how frustrating it may be to pay for shipping of the item back, but please try to understand our position on this matter. We provide prepaid labels for all our buyback orders and lose a significant amount on shipping and handling. However, since no action was taken from your side inside the order details, the quote adjustments were accepted automatically by the system and the order was automatically reprocessed on 01/25/2024. The payment was issued to the PayPal account stated by you inside the order details on 01/26/2024.We are really sorry to hear that you have a negative experience of doing business with us. Was quoted over ****** for 4 books. Two of them being almost new condition. Both books were purchased from.my daughters college book store for over 200 each. They are claiming one of them is counterfeit and the other damaged. Um no. These people are Crooks. Do not sell books to them. They will either pay me or send my books back. I purchased a book from them, was told it was in transit and then was told it was returned. I never saw the book and definitely did not want to return the item. I was only given a partial refund. Never received the book or the rest of the money I paid. Definitely feels scammy. They have not responded to any of the emails I've sent, nor the messages I submitted through their webpage. I have submitted a claim via paypal. Not happy with the lack of service and lack of communication. this does not seem like a company that cares about their patrons. Don't buy from them. Cancelled my order the same day it was placed, with no explanation. Waiting on a refund. I suspect they're bookjackers, advertising titles that they don't have in stock. There are legitimate online book rental businesses, but this doesn't appear to be one of them.BooksRun

I seen that they have good reviews so I gave them a try but I am starting to think the reviews are fabricated and flooded to hide critical reviews. Bookrun tends to quote you high prices to get you to sell them your book. However, once you send them your books, they will end up paying you less than half of the original offer. Books were in great condition and they would claim the books are in poor condition so they will not pay original quote. If the books were high value and buy certain companies they automatically flag it as counterfeit so that they don't have to pay. I've never had the experience with other vendors. If I were you I'd avoid doing business with bookrun.BooksRun

This incident has cast a shadow on my overall perception of Booksrun, a service I had previously valued.I would strongly suggest you exercise caution when considering doing business with Booksrun. According to our records, within the order in question the item *****' Guide To Physical Examination and History Taking (Lippincott Connect), ISBN ************* was rented on 09/10/2023 for 96 days with the expiry date stated as 12/15/2023.Please be informed that, while placing an order, each customer agrees with our policy, which states that items rented may correspond to any condition between New and Used - Acceptable. In concordance with the accepted policy, the rented item in Used - Good condition was sent. This particular condition implies some general signs of tear and wear, some markings, highlighting etc.; however, all the text should be legible and all pages included. The item might show wear from consistent use, but it remains in good condition and functions properly.According to our records, the item was returned to our warehouse on Dec 18, 2023, however, we received it with a damaged cover. In accordance with our Terms and Conditions, which all our customers agree to be bound by, if the item received exhibits signs of damage, the customer is to report the issue to the seller directly within 7 days after the items delivery. Otherwise, the customer becomes solely responsible for any condition change incurred. It is also mentioned that when you receive your rental item, it still belongs to BooksRun, unless the purchase price is charged. If a rental item is damaged by the user to the point of being unusable when returned, a purchase price will be charged.In case with order #*******, the charge was automatically estimated by our system taking into account the purchase price of the book and the condition alterations since the torn cover automatically changed the initial condition of the book to Used - Acceptable. Since the book was returned to us in a condition which differs significantly from the initially rented condition, the charge in the amount of $90.47 was applied accordingly.Once you reached out to us asking to rectify the situation in a timely manner, one of our representatives provided all the information regarding the extra charge and offered a 30% refund of the extra charge as a courtesy despite the fact that according to our existing policy, we do not refund any charges related to rental orders. However, since you rejected the offer and insisted on a full refund our representative worked on the possible ways of resolving this case, provided the pictures from the shipping and receiving stations to prove that the book was indeed returned damaged and managed to come to an agreement. Once you accepted our offer for a 50% refund of the extra charge, the reimbursement was successfully issued on Jan 3, 2024.We have no doubts that there was no intention to deceive us from your side, therefore, once you contacted us, in order to make up for the inconvenience caused, we were happy to investigate the case and assist you in a timely fashion.Once again, we are grateful that you brought this matter to our attention. However, we received the picture of the wrong item only. Thus, our representative requested the picture of the Booksrun shipping label attached to the package in order to proceedwith the investigation and assist you as soon as possible.We were indeed eager to rectify the situation but, unfortunately, did not receive any response from your side, thus, the investigation process was put on hold.Since the deadline for the order in question was stated as 12/15/2023, before or on this date the book was supposed to be returned to us. However, the return shipping label was not generated, thus we did not receive any update regarding the return of the order. According to our ****************** and also the information presented in the letters that were sent to your email address, in case the rental is not postmarked before the deadline, the extension fee in the amount of $15 is charged automatically, which creates the new deadline to return the book (in your case, 12/30/2023).Once you reachedout to us onceagain in regard to the extension fee that was applied to your account, our representative sent you video prooffrom our security cameras that the right book was packed and shipped to your address. Our processing department carefully inspects each and every book before they are sent to our customers. They stated my book (purchased new on amazon) was 'suspected counterfeit', kept it, and do not respond to repeated emails. Their initial email stated they would verify this and follow up but they have not. I was simply waiting to see if it was verified counterfeit so that I could address this with amazon. I waited the amount of time specified in the email and have contacted them several times over the last 6 months, no response. They have not confirmed it was counterfeit, paid me the money quoted, or returned the book.BooksRun

Same as others have reported- I sent several books and shockingly the most expensive book was deemed counterfeit so they will not pay me for it. This was a textbook I received new from the academic hospital where I work. Scam. They should be served with a class action lawsuit.BooksRun
