My therapist was incompetent, but that's not why I'm here. This place is a racket.
When I walked in for the first time, I was struck by how bizarre the office felt. Like I was in the leasing office for a luxury apartment. It's terribly gaudy, and ugly, and WEIRD — there's e.g. a marble desk in the waiting room that's just for show. I wrote all that off until I found out the following:
******* Therapy is a "therapist-matching service" owned by ******* *********, a digital media and publishing company. Uh oh. The other group ********* owns is called ******* **********, which seems to be some sort of therapists-as-entrepreneurs grift. You pay them and they… give you advice? It’s consulting and networking and like, newsletters. Not sure.
The information on CT's website is like 50% a discussion of interior design (their "featured in" section is all magazines like Elle, lol), 10% "how to get hired here," and then 40% strings of buzzwords that purport to explain what types of treatments they offer.
The big boss, Dr. ***** *****, is just some consultant who also works to help CEOs who struggle with impostor syndrome — lol, wonder why he knows so much about that! He is a businessman with a couple businesses. This is not a mental health professional. He doesn’t even pretend.
This place isn't about helping you. It's about making money. Any help you receive here will be incidental. I would never, ever recommend this practice to a friend. I would advise a friend to seek out an office that doesn’t look like a ***** *** ****** — a practice that isn’t owned by a MARKETING FIRM, whose practitioners can at least PASS as professionals.
Better off talking about your problems to a sales associate at ****.
