On 26, Dec. 2023, I brought 4 grandchildren, one daughter and myself (81 years old) to the Summit One Vanderbilt to the observatory to view ***. The brochure stated the ***** floor observatory site was accessible. The experience was an ordeal, at best. From 5-7 pm we were herded along narrow corridors; commanded to line up single file, told we needed to take photos(to pay an undisclosed $30 at exit to purchase). And an employee ordered me to remove my mask speaking like a guard barking to an inmate in a prison. We had to wait in single file lines for more than 95 minutes out of the total 2 hours of the visit. We were packed face-to-back with HUNDREDS of strangers who were also lined against the wall -all waiting for passage forward; The atmosphere was a barely controlled chaos to make the ascent followed by an unpleasant 45 minute descent from the observatory. Once the view was completed, we were informed that we had to wait "Outside" on the 93 floor for the ONE EXIT-a SINGLE revolving door. Again, hundreds of people were crammed single file to wait to pass through the SOLE exit. It is a REVOLVING DOOR (I have a video of the scene). During the long wait to descend we were again standing jammed together in a single line. At 81 years of age, my back and legs are still throbbing as there was no place to sit down. At each point we were yelled at to "line up against the wall, single file." I have been sick the two nights and days since the nightmare. My legs are swollen and back is in spasm. I have filed a complaint with the **************** The company has VASTLY oversold tickets and is totally unprepared to safely and professionally handle the crowds. It is an accident waiting to happen. At best, one exits exhausted, sick and relieved to be out. The glorious views are obliterated by the chaos, Fortunately, my family members were polite and quietly endured their Christmas "treat". I am still ill.

The SUMMIT One Vanderbuilt offers a different price per ticket, online, for *** and Long Island residents. When the tickets were purchased the system did not honor the rate. I have contacted the business seeking a reimbursement and they didnt accept the request. Adding to this the business also did not honor the ticket times and we were brought up through the service elevator. Although the reimburse is $15 the business should not be offering tickets for a price that will not be honored, this is false advertisement.
