    I wanted the $500.00 prize money that I earned back in 2015 to start my business. I discovered Defy through ******.com because I thought it'd be a cool idea to start a community based business for my communities. I volunteered within the program to help with the setup and clean up of each event back 7 years ago. I also had an envisioned mindset to be a better leader than most of the managers that I used to work under before I was incarcerated back in 2014. Through that time I was enrolled into their white belt class (white belt used from martial arts student rankings). During that time, I was also seeking employment through them and on my own; yet the results have not been fruitful. I was later in the year participated in their "Shark Tank" style competition to obtain seed money for my business in which for the White **** participants the first prize was $500.00. I actually won that prize and was preparing to use the money to open a business loan and get a legitimate business license. When I returned to retrieve said money, I was met with internal hurdles such as I had to be employed and also I had to already be in business with a business account showing profit progress within a year in order to get the funds. (which is already hard for a guy who has his first and only felony and is still struggling to get gainful employment to progress into those steps.) All I was and still am looking for in a second chance so that I can provide better for my family. I feel like I got ******* out of money and my time was wasted.
