I brought my dog in for a checkup. I was quoted approximately $500 for the X-ray in which I agreed to. They then brought out a bill of about $900. I asked to speak with someone about the price increase since I was feeling frustrated because we had spent approximately $7,000 with this location within a month of that appointment, for a situation that was handled improperly by staff. Instead of bringing someone to speak with me I was told not to worry about the bill, it would be waived and they kept the bill. I apologized and said it’s just a lot with having just spent so much and the staff member seemed very understanding and said oh we know, don’t worry, it’s being covered by our friends and family program. A couple months later I scheduled a new appointment and received a call from the office manager sarah, stating in order to see my dog the prior bill needed to be paid. I said I was confused where the disconnect was because I was told not to worry about it. Sarah then accused me of “giving her staff the run around and refusing to pay.”

BBB spoke to Sarah at business and the following was relayed: The customer has an outstanding balance that we will pursue legally if not paid.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The wheatfield animal hospital is denying that they indicated they would waive the bill after that was what was stated to me by the receptionist working. If this is still something that they are denying, I’d like the secretary, myself and my daughter who were present, to be questioned under oath. Aside from the blatant disrespect by denying that fact, the charges were over what was quoted, as well as the prior issues with my pets care due to their negligence. Regards,
