They were hired by a Home Equity firm to appraise my property. They gave me an appraisal of at least $100,000 less than what the property is worth. They left out many details about my property such as the brick double flue chimney, 110 foot long cement walls on the side yard, that I have two enclosed yards, that the greenhouse is a professional antique designer made **** & ******* greenhouse, I have 2 propane faux wood fireplaces, not one as was he wrote, etc. He even devalued the land (that is 2/3rds landscaped) several thousand that what is on the tax rolls. He did not mention that the small bungelow/cottage in the back overlooks a stream and has a small deck and no neighbors. I put $250,000 into my property to gut rehab it and used quality products like oak flooring, stone tile, ****** kitchen counter, quality 200 amp electric, and it actually should be worth about $350,000 because of increasing construction costs over the years. Bryan S**** the Somich appraiser, who I was told is also the owner of Somich gave a Home Equity company the amount of $170,000 appraisal. I felt he was purposefully trying to devalue my property because he did not take pictures of the chimney but instead was more interested in taking pictures of personal belongings like an African carving I have sitting on a bookshelf, and a small piece of furniture in the bathroom. I sense that I was definitely scammed, and a horrible way to start the New Year. Beware!
