On May 6th 2021 our house caught on fire and we have been displaced ever since. We hired ServPro Oakdale/North Bay Shore, ******************************* to help us in the reconstruction of the home. At the time of signing the total due for completion was $387,339.77. It is now July 1, 2022 and to date he has received a sum of $321,785.97 and construction has stopped yet again. Now he is asking for an additional $236,817.07 to complete the project. We were promised by this company that our house would be completed within the 6 to 8 months of the retrieval of the permits from the town. We received those permits end of September 2021. Work started and stopped numerous times. During the ending of December 2021 through March 2022 no construction was done at all. I had to contact ***** and ask him what was happening and why have the construction stopped and he told me he needed more money and at that point he received the $321,785.97 in total. After the amount of money given to this contractor no plumbing, no electricity, no walls only the framing of the house was done on the inside. During the months of February 2022 to March 2022 he received $100,000.00 to start the electricity and the plumbing on the house. We were told that the $221,785.97 that was previously given to him was not enough for him to cover the costs of the materials and or the costs for the construction workers to work. However we were told that we need to give him an additional $152,000 in which at that time no one was out to the house in months. Even the months he received the $100,000 no work was done. Before the construction commenced ***** noticed the foundation in the basement was cracking. Instead of him seeing the issue and replacing the wall or finding another legit way to handle it before it became worse, he decided that supporting the wall with beams was suitable enough to hold the wall in place. Now the wall is worse and his suggestion was to get a 2nd claim through my insurance company which was denied
