    I found Stephanie on a contractor group on ******** in November 2024. I hired someone to do exterior work on my home but she She assured me that she could get it all done in 4 days for the amount I had left to pay the previous contractor ($3300). After a few days on the job she says that she needs to get more materials than expected and that the total was going to be $5200. I was not happy as this felt like a bait and switch but she kept reassuring me of the great work that she is going to do and how fast she was going to get it done. Plus at this point I had already put down a deposit. After that she did not come across as a fraud but just a poor carpenter. She used the wrong color trim metal that did not match the house. It was a higher quality metal she claimed but she did a lot of work before telling me she had got the wrong color. She had to rebend the metal. Then she put metal around a window frame and put siding around it and then sent me a picture she showing how it looked bad and her reason was because the frame was rotted which would cost an extra grand to replace so we did that. She said the job would only take 4 days and after a couple weeks we only had maybe 30% of the work done. Then during the month of December she came up with excuse after excuse why shouldn't come. It was too cold, there was too much snow, her worker fell on the ice, she ordered the wrong siding and needed to reorder, Meanwhile there was a section of the house that was bare wood. When she did come her progress was terrible. One day she spent a whole day looking for a metal break only to tell me the next time that she didn't need one. She would not send me any documentation or pictures of the materials I gave her money to pay for. Finally, one day she told me she couldn't make it because of an accident she had. She sent me pictures that turned out to be from the internet. She is a scammer and a liar and now I am paying someone to fix her mistakes.

    In early December 2023 I hired Stephanie D*** for a large painting project due to her enthusiasm, promises to do all the work quickly, and her statement that the ******* ******** rep follows her around to photograph her work including the fact she has been featured in their store! It was $5900 (more than other estimates I received) and she painted one coat on the walls (telling me there were two coats on everything) did not paint the promised foyer, hallway and stairwell, and hit the ceiling and baseboards with paint in the couple things she did paint. The biggest problem is she told me she primed and painted two coats on my kitchen cabinets and she did not. It was one coat on bare wood, no primer, and all the paint just peels off with my fingernail!! She had excuses about when she would come back but after so many missed dates, the list of things that were done poorly and my concern she wouldn't be able to do it correctly, I told her I was letting her go and wanted a refund of $2000 understanding that she did come and do some of the contracted work, but I also needed to hire a professional to redo the cabinets. (He was charging me $2000 more) She has texted and emailed over and over telling me she made a mistake and that she should have primed the cabinets and "you will get your money today" but I haven't seen a dime! The contractor fixing the cabinets has spent weeks sanding and priming them because they have been ruined by someone who promised me the moon with her experience and "OCD" painting skills. My oldest daughter has been here painting walls and stairwells in her free time so I do not need to hire someone to do that too! This has been a terrible experience! I am renovating for my disabled daughter and it would have been nice to just have it done as promised.

    Hire stephanie to repair a roof leak in my home, She quoted me $1750 for the job which she said would need 9 bundles of shingles . Some weeks later she arrived to do the repair and i saw that she only used 3 bundles but charged me for 9, I confronted her and she denied it,, A few days later the roof was still leaking and she never returned to paint the effected ceiling as she stated she would, She then said I would have to pay another $450 for the additional repair, which was suppose to be part of the job. To this day there is stiill a leak and there is water running down the living room wall now damaging the drywall, which needs repair. She told me that was not part of the job. She gave me a price of $475 to paint the ceiling which she claimed otiginally was included in the original price, To date she has not returned to make any repairs , and I had to hire someone to paint the ceiling at an additional cost to me. She stalled me off several times with various excuses why she hasnt returned, She has several bad reviews and leins against her and should be exposed before she scams more people
