We hired ******** from Westchester Home Improvements to update our deck. After the architecture designs and town permit, he started to work on the deck on July 10th, 2023. After some work and a few delays (as he was overbooked), it turned out that he did not follow the blueprints correctly and we were forced to decide how to proceed. We decided that a bit more upgrade work would help (though not the original plan), but we were forced to decide since of the workers error. And so the work continued and needed to get new architect designs along with a new permit for the work. After some work with lots of delays (as he was overbooked), we were doubting his work quality as my wife and her father have experience with this type of work. And we had the architect and another contractor look at his work to find several issues not to code and not following the architect design again. After another 2 weeks, ******** came back with intentions to fix all issues, however he made some more mistakes my wife spotted, corroborating with a few others who agreed with her observations. We decided that he was not the correct person for this job and we need to find someone else. I fired him on October 26th, 2023. We paid him 80% of his estimate over this 4.5 month period, however what was actually done is far less than that. We are very disappointed in his workmanship and he was not upfront that he did not have experience with this type of project. We would like a refund of what was paid to him to fix his issues and get the deck completed.
