    On January 14, 2025 I paid $455.76 for one years worth of curbside, garbage collection services. Garbage is supposed to be collected on Tuesday. About every few weeks my garbage is not collected. When this happens I need to call my daughter as I am deaf, to contact B & N Disposal to let them know, no one has come to get my garbage. Sometimes my toter sits for days without collection. Everyone else on the street uses a different refuse collection company. Their garbage is picked up before the end of business every Tuesday - while my toter remains. I asked my daughter to cancel service with B & N Disposal and get a prorated amount of money back ($293.43). They agreed to cancel service (they weren't doing it anyway very well) - but refuse to return the prorated balance of my annual payment. I think since they aren't going to provide service for the remaining year, they are obligated to return those funds. I will take them to Small Claims Court if they don't refund the balance within a month (June 9, 2025). I have requested a copy of my canceled check from the bank - and should have it within 7 days.

    Cancelled my parents trash account after there deaths last summer ‘24. Was told because of deaths, mail in death certificates and Estate paperwork to receive refund. Did not receive any thing continuing to contact them and estate lawyer contacted them and have been unwilling to send refund. Should be refunded September thru December of ‘24 as they prepay the whole year

    We moved to Florida in Oct 2024 and B&N charged us $25 to pick up 1 trash bin. Their web site says if you move no charge. Now they are adding $12 a month late fee. Can you help us?

    B and N Disposal added a 'surprise' $40 fee to collect the rolling garbage tote when I ended my trash service after 7 years. (see invoice attachment #1).

    I'm looking for help having the fee waived/zeroed out. I've called and emailed several times but they have refused. I don't mind paying it if I truly agreed to it. Unfortunately it seems this is a sneaky attempt to hit customers with unexpected fee's.

    This fee was:
    1) not disclosed when service started, nor in any communications since
    2) not listed in any prior billing agreements
    3) not on their website until very recently (was added sometime after January 31st, 2023)

    Timeline:
    1) Summer 2016 - I started service.
    2) I Paid ~$120.00 every 3 months. Never had any late or missed payments. Actual trash service was wonderful.
    3) March 29th, 2023 - canceled service, my account was paid up. I expected a $0 balance.
    4) Was then notified of $40 'tote pickup fee', I requested it be waived/removed several times and was denied (see attachment #2)

    Billing Policy Info:
    1) The only B and N communication on billing policy came in two mass emails sent to every customer. One in Dec 2020 and another in Dec 2021 (see attachment #3 and #4). Neither of these list the fee.

    2) The billing policy listed on their website (*************************************************) only just recently added the fee (see "toter retrieval fee"). Per web archive this language was not present in a snapshot taken January 31st, 2023, nor in others taken in 2022.

    3) Attachment 5 - list of all mass communications from B and N. Showing no billing policy updates since Dec 2021.

    I am returning this complaint with the facts and will attach a copy of the billing policy for 2023. Mr. ****** believes that he should be exempt from the 2023 billing policy that he received at the beginning of every year. All other customers were charged for the removal of their trash toters. I emailed the statement on 03/30/2023 will the charge for the tote retrieval. Then on 06/12/2023 I returned his call and explained verbally what the charge was for, at which time he said he was not going to pay it. I am not sure why Mr. ****** thinks he should be exempt from the policy. When I explained to him about the billing policy he said he was not going to pay it. Thank you for you time B&N Disposal

    As discussed in the original complaint and shown in attachment (5-communication-list.pdf) B&N did not send me a 2023 Billing Policy. They clearly sent a 2021 and 2022 policy, which did not mention the extra fee.  But the 2023 policy was never disclosed or sent to me.  My expectation is that B&N should waive or drop this fee. Thank you for your assistance, ****

    I called B and N Disposal to cancel my service on March 6, 2023. I pay quarterly and was signed up for autopay. The last day of pick up was March 13, 2023 and I was told to leave the hauler at the street and they would be by to pick it up. On March 7, 2023 my credit card was charged $54.00. I called B and N to ask why they charged my credit card and was told it was to pick up the hauler. I was never told or had in writing that there was a charge to pick up the hauler. I would like $54 back from B and N Disposal as I was not informed there would be a charge and they took advantage of the autopay still being in place. Thank you.

    Our B & N DISPOSAL SERVICE account number is ****.
    We have moved to another city from Penfield, NY. Our last garbage pickup was 8/30/22. Per B&N Disposal’s policy, the company should refund the last quarter’s service fee within 8 - 10 weeks. It has been more than 5 months.
    * We paid $276.58 on 3/25/22 for service from 4/1/22 to 12/31/22 (96-gallon tote).
    * We paid $64.80 on 7/12/22 for the 2nd half of the year’s recycle service.
    We switched to pay annually because we received a bill with a big increase in March 2022, I called the company, and they told me if I paid annually, I could avoid any price increasing within the year. I asked what if we move in the future, they told me that they will issue a refund.
    Since our last pick up was 8/30/22, the company should refund the last quarter’s service fee to us, about $124.60.
    I have called them 6 times and every time the office lady said that they will issue a refund check to our new address, but ...
    1) 7/5/22 – I called and told them that our last pick up will be 8/30/22, and the office lady told me that leave the tote outside, and someone will pick it up, and they will issue a refund check to our new address.
    2) 8/12/22 – I called again to confirm that our last pick up will be 8/30/22. The lady confirmed that someone will pick up the tote, and they will issue a refund check to our new address.
    3) 12/2/22 – I called again because I have not received the refund check. The lady told me that they will issue a check by the end of the year.
    4) 1/23/23 – Since I still don’t have the refund check, I called again; the lady said she will ask the manager to issue the check.
    5) 1/30/23 – left a message.
    6) 2/1/23 – I called again. The lady said the manager will issue a check, but don’t know when. I asked to speak to the manager, the lady told me that the manager does not work in the office. I told the lady that I am going to file a complaint, she does not seem to care about that.
