The complaint I am filing is about a very leaky roof which was replaced by Right Angle Builders, carried out with appaling workmanship.I signed a contract with Right Angle Builders on November 1st, 2023 to replace the whole roof with new skylights. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.
We take all customer concerns seriously and strive to provide prompt and reliable service. Regarding the recent complaint, we would like to clarify the timeline and details from our records:
Our company was contacted about a leak issue on three separate occasions. In each instance, we responded and performed the necessary repairs in a timely manner.
The customer has stated there were six leak reports; however, our service logs and communication history confirm only three.
It was brought to our attention that a third-party contractor applied a product (Flex Seal) to the roof without our knowledge. This alteration unfortunately voided the original workmanship warranty, as it interfered with the roofing systems integrity.
Additionally, several issues were reported months after they allegedly occurred, making it difficult for us to properly assess and respond within the expected timeframe.
We stand by the quality of our work and our commitment to customer service. While we regret any dissatisfaction, we believe we have addressed each concern as it was presented to us and within the terms of our warranty agreement.
If there is any further information you need from us, please dont hesitate to reach out.Customer Answer

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolvedLet me comment, please. I am not at all happy with the quality of the work carried out, even less so with the way my complaints were commented and treated. An initial excuse of *** ******* was that he had received a poor batch of sealant, which he claimed was the reason for the leak(s). He never repaired the roof properly, or rather, the work was not carried out to industry standards in the first instance, to put it quite frankly, very poorly. I also feel addressed by *** ******* in a less than appropriate way. The poor workmanship causes considerable damage to the the inside of the house, which he should cover.
In my initial complaint, I listed the 7 cases of water ingress. There were even more cases. I reported the issues to the owner of Right Angle Roofing, ******* *******. Please see the following list, supported by the attached Whats App file- Pictures are available if needed.
Roof was replaced November 29th 2023
1st leak reported January 2nd 2024, work carried out January 8th 2024
2nd leak reported March 28 2024, work carried out April 2nd 2024
3rd leak reported August 19th 2024, work carried out August 31st 2024
4th leak was in August 2024
5th leak reported January 19th 2025, some sealing work carried out February 5th 2024
6th leak reported February 16th 2025, no repair carried out, only impolite messages sent by *** ************* ************** *** *** ********** leak occured May 6th 2025, not reported, because *** ******* did not even bother to address the 6th leak or stick to his promise to come to fix the issues.
All is well documented (Whats App file, pictures, cameras around the house), the workmanship was poor, to say the least. There clearly should NOT BE ANY leak on a new roof. I expect refund of the majority of the money. Clearly the company is not up to carrying out this kind of work. From above, it is obvious, that *** ******** statement that "I had reported several issues months after they occured" is not at all true.
I am very upset.
Sincerely,
****** ********

At Right Angle Roofing, we take tremendous pride in our work and stand behind our workmanship and the material we install. On the rare occasions that issues have been reported to us, we both responded immediately and acted in a timely manner to resolve any/all issues. Each of the three (not more than three) times that a concern was brought to our attention, we, without question, returned to the job to determine if a problem existed and when an issue was determined to be related to the roof, the issue was addressed immediately or shortly there after. Unfortunately, whether the homeowner or someone related to the homeowner applies a foreign chemical to our roof without knowing the potential negative effects that can occur as a result of the misapplication, the warranty is voided. I'd like to note that even after the property manager (not the homeowner-as previously mis stated) admitted to applying the foreign substance- not intended for EPDM Rubberized roof applications, to our roof system, we returned to address the concern (even though it was no longer within the realm of our warranty coverage) We have shown good faith honoring our installation and workmanship. Homeowner is attempting to intimidate and bully our company and good standing in the community and we do not tolerate bullying at Right Angle Roofing. The various acts of libel and slander will not tarnish our good standing in this community and we will continue to provide excellent service to homeowners- keeping homes dry and protecting your most valued assets with peace of mind!Customer Answer

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:The statement of *** ******* ******* is incorrect. In no way do I want to bully or intimidate, libel or slander the company. The facts speak for themselves. There is indisputable evidence of the poor workmanship (pictures) and the damage caused by the appalling work and the resulting leaks.
Furthermore there have been a total of at least 7 leaks in various places and the WhatsApp communication data shows that I have brought the leaks and damage to the attention of ********** immediately. It is not a question of warranty. The minimal corrective work that was carried out was performed in a carelss and unprofessional manner to resolve the numerous defects and leaks. New defects have continued to emerge in various other areas over time.
*** ******* whole attitude is questionable. *** ******* demonstrated a total lack of professional integrity in his work and showed no regard for the quality of workmanship or to customer satisfaction. Furthermore, he knowingly operated without the required **** ******* **** license. Such behavior is unacceptable and raises serious concerns regarding compliance with regulatory standards and consumer protection obligations.
Sincerely,
****** ********
