Originally, I contacted Finger Lakes Power Systems (FLPS) regarding solar panels. I decided that they were too expensive and chose instead to add a heat pump system to the house, as there were only electric heat panels in some rooms of the house. I was not planning to use FLPS for this project, but Dan L****, the owner, told me that they could install a heat pump system for me, as they installed them. This was not true according to the young men who installed the system, as I later found out. The work by the young men was lacking and there were many issues along the way (please see attached letter to Dan L****). The work took several months to complete, and I had to hire another electrical outfit (*** ******* of ***** ******* *** ******* of Keuka Park, NY) to fix the items. Dan L**** would no longer answer my texts or emails at this point (August 14, 2024, I have the texts). The repair work was not completed until late November 2024, *** ******* charged me $1598.40. During the installation of the heat pump system in the attic, Dan's workmen also disrupted my digital antenna system. I had to buy an antenna and pay to have it installed, by *** ********** *** ********** for $225. and $83.90 for the antenna. Dan L**** was supposed to install an antenna for me, but he never showed up or called me back. There were multiple errors made by Dan L****'s techs during the installation (please see letter to Dan L****). I am very unhappy with this business. I feel that I had been lied to by Mr. L**** due to the unprofessional work that was done by the young men with little to no experience with heat pump systems. There were numerous issues (please see letter to Mr. L****), and they were poorly, if at all resolved and I had to hire another company to fix said issues. I would never recommend or do business with Finger Lakes Power Systems, or Dan L**** again. I spent in addition to the $22,590.86 I paid them, $1907.30. I want a refund of at least that amount.

      Business Response

      Date: 03/24/2025

Finger Lakes Power Systems concedes that new Technician training did occur during this customer's installation, which resulted in some errors that required corrective rework.  Additionally, chronic, long-term shortages of qualified field personnel resulted in our inability to respond to and address the customer's concerns in a timely manner.  We offer our sincerest apologies for the unfortunate situation and will happily reimburse the customer for out-of-pocket expenses she incurred as a result.
