      Hello, On August 31st, my mother, grand-mother and I stayed at a Local Hotel In Plattsburgh, NY. We decided to go for a one day mini vacation to change the atmosphere. We are from Montreal, Canada. Long Story short, my mother experienced Bed Bugs in her bed while laying down, the night of Aug 31st, 5 were found and killed, we took pictures etc. Spoke to the front desk, they gave us the option to change rooms, we decided to leave and head back home immediately. We mentioned we would be making a complaint on tripadvisor. We contacted management and with fail, have not been refunded. We paid 75.00$ USD + 19,000 reward Points,( to help lower the cost of the room). The Hotel specifically does not want to provide us with a refund, indirectly stating that we are lying and that this never happened at their hotel despite all the proof given. They are not tried to resolve the issue, except some apologies. WE Want a FULL refund.       Good afternoon.  I am in receipt of the above complaint.   Here are the facts as I handled this personally.  Attached is email from my night auditor when the lady in the room apparently the grandmother called down.   No bugs were given or showed to my night auditor or proof of bites (being eaten as she said on the phone).  We immediately took room out of order.  Certain personnel are trained with ****** Pest Company training on how to identify and locate bed bugs we have blue lights and other tools.   I am certified as GM as well and went into this room with my maintenance engineer who is certified.   We used the blue light in all areas of the room (they just are not found in the dark as per Mr. ******).  If there are bed bugs there would be black reminensece found on area such as mattress and box spring and and we tore apart the box spring and took the backing off as trained and there was nothing, nothing behind the headboard, the room had no bed bugs in it.  Also the photo of the bed bugs indicate they are mature which means they need to feed on something to grow and that would mean more evidence such as blood stains on the bed, etc.  There was nothing in this room.   Also this room is one of our most occupied rooms as it is one of two ADA compliant rooms.  Prior to their stay it was rented out almost every day during the summer and has been since then as well.  No issues prior or since.  If there was anything to indicate bed bugs I would have immediately contacted ****** and they come in and verify and treat the room, we do not fool around with this and take it very very seriously as we have been in business since 1958 in this same location.    I had email responded to Mr. ****** several times and did not feel any refund was warranted.  I also don't understand why someone if there was bed bugs would take them home.  The photo clearly shows blood which means they had fed on something alive and again there would be evidence.   She stated on the phone to my night auditor that she was being eaten by bed bugs but no blood evidence?  

      We are trained and qualified again in this area and all of our staff is required to be trained as well per **** ******* requirements and we take these matters very seriously.   There was no bed bugs in this room and I will not be refunding for something that did not happen in our hotel.  We were also showed photos on a white cloth which does not match our top sheet as it has patterns in it nor does it match our sheets.  

      For all of the above facts we did not refund this guest.  Thank you.  Julie K****** CHA, General Manager
