      ** August 2022 a D. Rohde tech came to troubleshoot ** problem. The technician gave a good impression, explained why airco unit should be replaced vs repaired, quoted me over 10k price, and asked how much deposit I would leave. I asked when the unit would be installed, and he said within a couple of weeks. I decided to leave a $2000 deposit, to spread the cost-burden between two months. The technician even said "Are you sure? Wouldn't you rather leave a $500 deposit?" I did not see the danger, and left the larger deposit. After numerous emails and phone calls to get D. Rohde to follow up on the contract with no responses, I finally told them I would contact an attorney and the BBB. The next day they called to say "the parts arrived this morning. Can we install the ** the first week of December?" As I would not be able to test an ** during the winter months, and as I no longer felt any confidence in their committment to the contract, I asked for a refund. The "scheduler" said the "finance person" would call me back (she would not ID anyone with names) to report "if I qualify for any refund". I have not heard back from D. Rohde since.
