    On June 21, 2023, I rented a lift from advance rental. I reserved the 50 foot lift two days prior but they rented it to someone else despite our agreement and gave me a 45 foot lift. While hooking up my truck, I noticed they didn’t hook up the lights of the trailer. I asked if they worked and I was told that they do. Upon arriving to my customers home and unhooking the lift the emergency brake wasn’t working and the lift slid into my trailer hitch, I continue to set it up and it would not function properly because the outriggers would not level. In the meantime every time I set the lift up in their yard, it would slide around, tearing up my customers lawn and destroying their dog fence due to the lack of an emergency brake. I was told to bring the lift back due to it malfunctioning and they voided the sale. They gave me half off on my next rental, but refused to do anything about my customers yard saying it was not their fault so I rented the 50 foot lift from them and they said it would be ready on Friday and on Thursday they told me it will not be ready until Monday. So I picked it up on Monday and the trailer lights did not work on that lift either. As I was setting up the 50 foot lift in my customers yard a hydraulic line blew and an electrical short occurred so I had to return that lift as well that is when I found out that none of their equipment is inspected as per the law. I wrote them a bill for repairs to my customers yard and told them that I will be contacting OSHA as well as the Better Business Bureau. They said they will not be strong armed and treated the situation as if it were a joke I have now lost two full days of work due to their negligence and have to repair my customers yard and dog fence out of pocket. They do not maintain their equipment and they do not follow the law as far as getting their equipment inspected and keeping it maintained. They show a blatant disregard for their customer safety and refuse to maintain and inspect equipment.

    I have reviewed the customers concerns and am willing to reimburse him for materials and the labor to repair the lawn even though he should have recognized the damage it was doing to the lawn and protected it. Total of goodwill reimbursement would be $314.95. He did have 2 unfortunate issues and I am willing to work with him. His request for lost labor is not reasonable, therefore I will not be granting his request for lost labor reimbursement. He was not charged for the lift rentals due to the unfortunate events.
