******** Advantage dental provider said I needed an implant outside of the treatment plan submitted to DentaQuest and WellCare. I paid him $5,000 and he didnt do the implant. He claimed he used the money on provider approved procedures he hadnt received payment for. Thats a lie. He submitted a false bill to the insurance companies for work he didnt do and kept my money.

    FEBRUARY 3RD 2023
    TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
IT IS AN EMBARRASSMENT TO MS. ************************* TO RECEIVE ******** AND OR ******** PLANS WHILE SHE HERSELF WAS ABLE TO PAY "CASH" FOR THE TREATMENT  WHEN SHE FOUND OUT THAT THE RECOMMENDED PROCEDURES WERE DENIED BY HER BOTH DENTAL COVERAGE DENT QUEST AND WELL CARE.

THE PATIENT RECEIVED A DENTAL IMPLANT AS INDICATED IN THE ATTACHED WALKOUT STATEMENTS .THE IMPLANT IS BURIED UNDER THE GUM FOR SIX MONTHS FOR OSSEOINTEGRATION .SHE IS CONFUSED WITH HER PHASES OF TREATMENT AND MIGHT SUFFER FROM AMNESIA OR IT SEEMS AS SHE WANTS TO CHEAT OR SCAM OUR PRACTICE AND HER GOAL IS TO  GET FREE TREATMENT SINCE HER DENTAL COVERAGE PROMISED HER COVERAGE AND DID NOT KEEP THEIR PROMISE .HENCE ****************** IS FRUSTRATED THINKING SHE CAN GET HER $5000 DOWN PAYMENT BACK FROM ** FOR TREATMENT RENDERED BY REPORTING A FALSE STATEMENT TO THEE BBB.

SHE IS ONLY ENTITLED TO GET  $474.49 (FOUR HUNDREDS SEVENTY FOUR US DOLLARS AND FORTY NINE CENTS)  WHICH IS THE CURRENT  CREDIT IN HER ACCOUNT TO COMPLETE THE SECOND PHASE OF HER IMPLANT TREATMENT .THIS COMPLAINT WAS ALREADY DISCUSSED WITH PATIENT'S DENTAL INSURANCE AND WAS VERIFIED AS SUCH. .IF SHE WISHES TO SEEK TREATMENT AT ANOTHER PRACTICE WE WILL BE GLAD TO GIVE HER BACK ONLY  THE CREDIT OF $ 474.49  AND DISMISS HER FROM OUR PRACTICE.

FINALLY OUR OFFICE IS A VERY HIGH QUALITY PRACTICE PROVIDING THE HIGHEST CARE TO OUR PATIENTS WITH  38 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE.  WE DON'T APPRECIATE FALSE COMPLAINS OR NEGATIVE REVIEWS FROM FRUSTRATED PATIENTS WHOSE DENTAL COVERAGE IS LIMITED AND IN TURN THOSE PATIENTS HAVE TO  PAY THEMSELVES  FOR TREATMENT RENDERED.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The provider is a liar. I am not mentally challenged or confused. I am entitled to ******** and I have benefits. The procedure in question has nothing to do with insurance. I borrowed money to help maintain my dental health. This belligerent statement doesnt change the fact that my money was stolen by this lying dentist. I gave him $5,000 for an implant they didnt do. An appeal to the insurance company covered the incomplete work that was performed. Implant without abutment or crown. When Kaplan submitted claims to the insurance company, the one implant and a glass onlay were approved and thats what was done. He took my money to pay for something that was covered by the appeal. He has a contract with WellCare and DentaQuest to accept what they pay for services. You cant take my money to pay for something other than what it was intended for. He should be embarrassed because his actions are unprofessional. If he feels Im mentally challenged then why did he take advantage of a senior citizen? I have three different bills charging me for different proceduresall to justify taking my money. He didnt do what hes billing for, and that is between him and his contracted healthcare provider. He knew what was covered before he started and he did not separate the cost between insurance and out of pocket expense before taking my money. He just sent a nasty email saying happy dental life knowing he left unfinished procedures in my mouth. Gross negligence. If I have too, I will see him in court for my refund and damages for incomplete dental care. Documents furnished upon request.

The patient dental insurance Dentaquest  and then Wellcare did not cover the procedures performed ,The down payments paid $5000- was applied toward those denied procedures such as the implant done in lower left ,crown lengthening on the upper right ,osseous surgery lower left with bone grafting and an onlay to tooth #2 which every practitioner stated that this tooth needs to be extracted and so far we were able to save it instead of extracting it and replacing it with a dental implant  .

As mentioned before the patient has credit of  $474.49  since few small payments were made by Wellcare for other minor procedures such as cleaning etc .A check was mailed to patient for that amount .No other  refunds are due to the patient at this time .She can take it with her dental insurance and if the insurance reverses their decision to pay for procedures rendered then the patient will be reimbursed accordingly .

As i mentioned before we are a very reputable practice for more than 38 years in the business and patients  do  get frustrated when their dental coverage is denying payments for rendered procedures. This case was reviewed and closedby ***************************** .

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Kaplan didnt do what he charged for. The insurance said they would pay and as a Medicare provider you are to act within the limits of your contract. You can not balance bill a patient as a Medicare provider. You asked for the money to do an implant, but instead you didnt do the implant. Insurance paid for the onlay you placed on top of an infection (per x-rays) and caused the remove of that tooth and the one next to it. You put a temporary filling over a cracked infected tooth (per x-rays) and that tooth was also extracted. You had no dental plan per the insurance companies and you are illegally bill balancing. If I dont get a full refund of $5,000 I will go to court. The only thing you did was insert an implant that the insurance company approved. You cant take the patients money.
