I arrived at the store approx 11:30am. Store was quite busy 4 people there. Owner was waiting on a man who wanted a gold chain - didn't like the selection. I  entered and showed him my chain - had it loose for weight only as it was a gift for my daughter should want to sell it. My other pieces were put on his desk. He took the chain - put it in his pocket- sold it to the man without paying me for it. I continued to sit at his desk for several hours.  I was in shock at his treatment towards me. I eventually had to leave store. No water, no bathroom, no lunch. He made like he was paying me (small amount) but retrieved it from me and I left the store. No money - no jewelry he had taken everything from me, Next day went to police who came to the store with me. Owner showed him an old ledger where he had paid me 2 checks for June & July - no payment for October 26. We left the store. He is very clever. This has been very difficult for me. I am 93 years old. He took advantage of me. I trusted him ever so much.

The client who made this complaint came into my shop in October with a Brighton Police Officer. Told me I had not treated her fairly when purchasing jewelry from her in two different transactions - One being in late June and the other in early July 2024. She did not aknowlage those two transactions. She stated that I only paid her the sum of (as I remember it) being somewhere in the neighborhood of $1,300. And that at that time I slipped a gold neck chain into my pocket right in front of her. I was able to prove to the Officer and Mrs. ******* that the two checks I wrote out to her totaled approximately $9,000. And that there were no payments or buying of jewelry from Mrs. ******* after those two initial transactions. None in the month of October. The Officer understood my position and the two left. She was not satisfied. I reached out to her Son who lives in Rochester to alert him to the situation. Since then, I have received word from her Insurance Co. who questioned me about the jewelry I purchased because Mrs. ******* put a loss claim in with them. Recently she came back and just simply refuses to believe I had paid her this type of money- Although I have two canceled checks made out to her to prove otherwise. I asked her to nicely leave- And called her Son while she was here. ****** ******* told me to call the Police- Wich I did.. Mrs. ******* left on her own will before the police arrived. I have witness to my dealing with her for I was not alone when I made the 2nd purchase in early July. At 1st I thought that age played a part in her being so confused, but overtime, I have personally come to the conclusion that as gold has risen in value each and every month after our two transaction- That Mrs. ******* seems to feel I have not treated her properly. she has never acknowledged my payment of nearly 9K to her.
