      American Custom did a major remodel of our kitchen, dining area and living room back in 2018. Things progressed fairly well and everything was done professionally. In November 2021, we noticed that our engineered wood floor was splintering in several places and we immediately contacted American Custom to ask for their help. A professional from their office came over and stated that he noticed several more places we had missed where the floor was splintered and some of the boards seemed to be separating from each other. He agreed to contact the flooring manufacturer to research warranty information. For the next several months, we went back and forth about the flooring, until a point in May 2022 when our phone calls were no longer returned by anyone in the office. We sent a registered letter to American Custom stating our continued concerns about the floor; the response we received in essence stated that they could no longer assist and we'd have to contact the manufacturer directly. The letter also stated that care instructions for the flooring would've been provided by the flooring retailer to us when we purchased the floor, which we did not directly do ourselves. There was no care information provided to us by American Custom nor by the flooring retailer, although we have been careful and only used cleaners recommended for wood flooring. We would like others who are researching contractors to know about this type of issue when dealing with American Custom. Though their workmanship is very good, their follow-up to customer concerns leaves something to be desired. We are now faced with having to replace this floor sooner rather than later, even though it should've lasted us for many more years. This is an expense that we had not counted on to occur so soon.
