    “Colin the Plumber” came to our home on December 15, 2024 in response to our emergency call. We had water backing up into our utility tub in the basement and also from the toilet in the powder room off the kitchen, on the main floor. The first plumber they sent was telling us before he had even entered our home yet, that we would need their big equipment to solve the problem, He went to the basement to scope with their camera. He told us there was a problem and again that we would need their big equipment. He offered no proof. I asked him if we could see the camera footage. He replied that it had all been put away. No proof,
    I told the owner Colin that I did not trust the man. Colin sent Nick and he did a second scope. He showed us what he thought was a cable in our pipes underneath our driveway. He rushed us to approve having them replace our pipes for $11,000. They replaced all our pipes with PVC. One month later the same problem happened again with water backing up into the utility tub and powder room toilet. Nick told me to call the County Water since they were supposed to remove the “obstacle”that was outside the range of the clean out under the driveway. They came but told us they had already flushed out a “gasket” the week before. They looked with their camera and said the problem is either in the house or just outside before the first pipe.
    Colin the plumber sent another service person who within a few hours told us the problem was resolved because he had cleaned out the “back flow preventer valve”. We have had no issues since. We know now that replacing our whole sewer line was unnecessary. We also have the costs to repair our lawn and driveway. The County Water man who was here several times including the day pipes were replaced, the day they addressed the “obstacle” and when we had the second back flow, told us the gasket they found would not have caused the back up. Colin the Plumber has refused to reimburse any of it. He said it is a second issue.
