I have been working with Benefit Reps since 2016 and they have literally done absolutely nothing to help me in any way, aside from help me apply for SSD. I have gone through 3 grand jury hearings, 2 of which were with the same judge who belittled me and contradicted all of my doctors medical advice/recommendations. The 3rd judge was new and agreed my case was mishandled by the judge and my legal counsel. Benefit Reps made zero attempt at communicating with me, following up to my inquiries, or updating me on my case. During the hearings my representative did not even attempt to advocate for me at all. During this last hearing my representative didn’t even get my name correct or know ANY of my background/medical history. After 8yrs I have finally won my hearing and the judge ruled “fully favorable” after my last hearing in June 2024. Today I received a letter detailing the fees my representative was wanting compensation for and I have to say I was shocked and angered by it. Over the course of the 8yrs since applying I promise you they did not do $1000 worth of services let alone the $10,567 they’re asking SS to be compensated for!! Had they done their job and represented me fairly and thoroughly I would have no problem paying what their asking, but after 8yrs of never hearing a word from them and if/when I did it was a quick 5-10 min phone call just to be rushed and treated rudely..no sorry I don’t think so. I wish I had never gone to them for representation. The way they do business should be illegal. Especially when the people who seek representation from them are desperate and have no income at all. Times are hard for everyone these days, but nobody should get paid for doing nothing. People please don’t get taken advantage of by going to Benefit Reps for help. They don’t stand behind what they say and they definitely don’t have your best interest in mind.
