They are scammers!! I setup a call via their website to get more information. The doctor was late and when he arrived he is not answer my questions on what are the side affects and potential risks/issues. I decided this was not the best place to get my procedure done. I was then given a bill for $267.00 which was charged to my insurance all for a less then 10 min consultation. They didnt advertise the fee and the amount anywhere and the procedure I was interested in was out of pocket. After several weeks of contesting this fee they lowered it to $150.00 just for basic information on what they offer! Please run for the hills, do not work with this team. There are better more forthright and honest orgs. I found another practice that I am working with who are very honest about my concerns and upfront on billing practices.. I am wondering how many people they do this to.. charge people for doing nothing but provide info that can be found online for free

I went to The New York Bariatric Group thinking that I was going to get help with weight management but quickly realized that this is a company that is only out to make money off obese people. I am only 60lbs from my goal weight and decided to get help through a non-surgical medical program. Huge mistake! So far, I have only seen the doctor twice and have spent $421.15. And this is without the psych or nutritionist visit. Like most Americans, I have a deductible to pay with my insurance. The first doctor visit, my weight and vitals were recorded, had a short conversation with the doctor and was charged $193. Second visit I had to take a 15-minute breathing test and had another short talk with the doctor. $228. Last year, I had to get varicose vein treatment. With my $3000 out-of-network deductible, do you know how much the doctor charged for each visit? $50. Could I have been charged more? Absolutely! I went under major surgery on my legs and came out of pocket $200 but with NYBG I have done nothing but have my vitals taken and spent $400. If you are like me and you are under 100lbs from your goal weight, save your money and go to the gym. I share this testimony so everyone can be aware of which doctor prioritizes patient care and which doctor prioritizes profit. NYBG definitely cares about making money.

******,Thanks for reaching out! We apologize for your experience with NYBG and any billing concerns. Please give us a call to discuss at **************. Unfortunately, NYBG has no control over a patients deductible. Upon further exploration, the out of pocket cost is due to that deductible. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
