    I have a contract for building a garage/studio, which started on August 2022, in ************.I paid the contractor **** Drake in full $120,000.00 for the completion of the work, trusting it will be completed. The contractor was unable to finish the work I paid for, because he is in jail. After many emails send to the company the contractor contacted me from where he is being held and said when he returns we will figure out the reimbursement. I do not know when he will return. This was May 2023 three months since he left the job and three months since his phone call. His partner in the business Maryline Damour said that they don't know when he will be out and that they cannot reimburse me at the moment. I got another contractor to finish the job and sent the invoice to the company for reimbursement. The partner. Maryline Damour said the business is close and they cannot reimburse me at the moment the sum of $20,014.00, which i paid to finish the job with the new contractor. ****** ***** have made no attempt to reimburse me even in increments. I have all proof of payments to the company ****** ***** and payment for the completed work with the new company. On August 4th, 2023 Maryline Damour wrote:"We dont yet have a date when **** will be out. He has his last court date next Thursday and I expect that by October, he should have a better idea of when he would be out. Since COVID, the court system is backed up and there is nothing we can do to move that along. His lawyer has expedited as much of the process as possible but we are dependent on the courts timing. Since the business is temporarily shut down, we are not able to reimburse you at the moment. As **** explained, he will talk to you when he knows more. Thank you."I cannot wait on his release, since I do not know when that would happen. There is no evidence that the company is shut down, since Maryline Damour is very active as a designer in ******** **.
